Game update automatically pauses at 100%?

Try using the "verify file integrity" or whatever option in the game properties.

I've only noticed that reoccurring (not fixed after pausing/resuming a couple of times) when my games partition was too full for the update to install.

You are supposed to reinstall. But after deleting the files from steam go to the steam folder and remove the don't starve folder because it leaves some stuff in the folder. You should also backup any save files even though it's saved on steam cloud.

I had the same problem & solved it by reinstalling the game. But just like Zrr00 said, you should also backup any save files even though it's saved on steam cloud. I'm telling you this because I reinstalled and loaded my save files from the cloud just to see that my game was on day 3 instead of 24 (I think I forgot to sync it or sth like that). So I just let my character die to ease my anger. Well, at least everything goes well for my new character after the update. Anyway, enjoy the game:)

Reinstalling the game will probably work - as others have pointed out, there's been some issues after the recent patch to the game. However, before you do that, it might be worth also trying defragging the HD, then doing the verify integirty thing.

That happened to be yesterday with Don't Starve.

I just restarted steam and the glitched download disappeared.

I had the same exact problem when my game tried to update with their "Let it Rain" update yesterday, I had to uninstall and then re-install the game and it works perfectly fine now.

It's a really small game so even with a terrible connection it shouldn't take long at all to be playing again with the latest update.

So I reinstalled and it was fine. Then I've just checked Steam and there has been another update, just 1MB this time. Exact same thing has happened.

This game gets fairly frequent updates currently and it's going to be kind of annoying to have to delete and re-install it every time there's an update...

me too yesterday the 19,7mb update failed ---->reinstalled the game
today the game is messing with a 1mb update.

Do we have to reinstall Dont starve daily now???
