Only Alan Rickman, the actor who played Professor Snape, knew his character’s fate before the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” because Rowling told him.
I think there was an interview somewhere about this

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, started reading the books when I was 8 and bought each new book the morning they came out. Have since read them numerous times, as much as I love the movies the books are definitely more in-depth. I watched the first Harry Potter movie every day for a year and a half, so I've easily watched the film 800+ times over the years. HP is the one thing I go to when I need a pick-me-up, definitely my most loved thing (besides family/friends).
Spoilers for the 5th book:
“Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) actually came around the next morning, because we lived near each other at the time, and he said, ‘Have you seen the new book? We’ve got a lot of work to do, mate.’ He was quite happy, and I didn’t know how to break it to him. So I said, ‘Have you actually read it yet, Gaz?’ ‘No, just clicked through it.’ A few days later I’m in makeup and he comes in, and sits down, and goes ‘Have you heard the news?’ ‘What’s that, Gaz?’ ‘It’s terrible fucking news.’ ‘What is it?’ ‘You know how everyone is talking about who dies in book five? It’s fucking me! This woman puts the poor bastard in prison for 12 years, brings him back for a few scenes, and then she kills him!’” - David Thewlis (Remus Lupin)

I actually didn't care much for Harry Potter up until the fifth movie was already out on dvd. It just always struck me as a quick cash-grab based on a popular book with a dorky name. That all changed one late evening, and by sheer coincidence. I was zapping between television stations and the end credits of either the first or the second movie were playing. The credit that popped up was: "Music: John Williams" and I thought to myself "hmmm, if they're just trying to bank on a popular item, they wouldn't hire someone like John Williams to do the music. They seem pretty serious about this. Perhaps I should give it a fair chance." My brother already owned the first four movies on dvd, so I borrowed them and fell in love with them. Ended up seeing the sixth, seventh and eight movie in theatres and I own my very own limited edition dvd set (number 2.257 of 25.000) that holds all 8 movies :>

I watched every episode of Harry Potter but not read the books or play the game.
Bump with something about Harry Potter, Fact/Pic/Myth/etc.
