As stated in the title I'm in search for a tool or something that can semi automate giveaway creation. I'm currently planning something big for sometime during this summer and after trying and failing to even make a single train that exceeded 10 wagons I could reaaaaaally use something like that. So if it exists and you know of it I'd greatly appreciate sharing it with me :P

Also here's the obligatory train. Cheers!

Edit: You thought one shitty train was enough? WRONG! One more testing the new script!

This is not a poll, this is a petition! "Vote" to force Student123 into changing his username to Addict123! Should he?

Hell yes!
Absolutely yes!
Without a doubt!
Addict123 doesn't cut it, he should change to the disturbing BarbieAddict123
There's no "No" option so I vote for Salaryman123

TL;DR: OP disguises addiction to students and numbers.

You're a lifesaver! I'm aspiring to overthrow jatan's record sometime in the next couple of months so you can guess how much work that would be without a tool like this! And from what I see it's set in GMT time so that'll be an easy conversion :P
Thanks a bunch man! Both you and the guys that made it!

P.S. BUT I HAD NO IDEAS FOR A POLL!!!

It would seem your instructions are missing something.

  • Copy Raw Paste (done)
  • Manage User Scripts (where the heck is that?)
  • New User Scripts (nowhere to be found)
  • Use Script from Clipboard (nowhere to be found)
  • Click Button (no button to be seen)

I do have Java installed on my computer, but I have no experience with Java.

I already have Greasemonkey installed. Where am I supposed to be looking for this "manage user script?"

Copy Raw data. Open the submenu for Grasemonkey on the upper right corner (Click the arrow icon next to the monkey face.). Click New User Scrip. Insert a random word for the name area and click ok. After that, a new window will pop-up. Paste it while replacing everything and click save. Everything should work now.

I know 11 months've passed but incase you still wonder or for other people. :3.

pssst - Necromancer here

I seem to be too much of a noob to get that script running. I intend to create a train with more than 100 GAs on it so it would really be of a great help.

  • I'm running Greasemonkey on Firefox
  • I copied the raw code to my clipboard with the setting "use script on webpage: ://www.steamgifts.com/ " (same issue when leaving it empty causing an autofill with the giveaways/new page)

The button just doesn't show up... :(
I thought it would look like with the SGT Helper but it doesn't. Most likely because I did something wrong. Could you possibly help me out? Thanks!

Thanks. :-) knsys updates his SGT Helper script as well allowing to set the CV level after I wrote on bis discussion today. I just liked the way how to set the GA timeframe of your script more. :-)

I might try to make a train that maxed out all my Giveaway slots if such a thing existed... except... pretty sure we would go bankrupt if I did that.

Looks like you got it figured out already so good luck :D. I wouldn't be of any help since I'm old school and make every wagon with tender love and care. That and I need time finding music videos XD.

You can always edit the descriptions to include the message/videos and just create them with the " [Next] () " there. It just auto fills the dates, restrictions, cv level etc. when you're at the creation page which saves a looooot of time when you're making something long

Necroing with a question.... Just been playing around with the script mentioned in this thread, anyone know what to do to make giveaways for a specific group? I'm a total novice when it comes to scripts.

Line 18 is as follows - var groupId = "1898";

I have no idea what 1898 refers to.

Line 44 is - $("div[data-checkbox-value='invite_only']").trigger("click");

I guess I've got to change the invite only to whitelist /steam groups or something similar? I then don't know if selecting the actual group would need something further?

Managed to figure out the basics and can make public/private giveaways, change the times and level requirements etc. Just struggling with this group part.

Leomoty once gave me a script to find out how to look up group IDs. It's rather complicated, I will see if I still have it.

Aw yiss. I think you have to type in this code when you are at the giveaway creation window or at the group list of your Steam profile.

 $('.form__group--steam').each(function(){
 var el = $(this);
 console.log(el.attr('data-group-id') + "\t" + el.find('.form__group__name').text());
 });

It will spit out a group list with their corresponding IDs

Thanks for trying but I'm really clueless here. Managed to get the group IDs but now I'm lost. I literally have zero experience with this sort of thing and am trying to use nothing but intuition to figure things out.

Changed
var groupId = "1898";
to relevant group number and it doesn't do anything.

Was able to figure out that changing
$("div[data-checkbox-value='invite_only']").trigger("click"),
to
$("div[data-checkbox-value=''groups']").trigger("click");
checked the "Whitelist / Steam Groups" checkbox instead of "Invite Only" which is marginally useful at it saves 1 click at least.

Still can't get it to check the actual group or groups I'm looking for. I tried inserting a couple of new lines that went:
function applyGroupId() {
$("div[data-group-id='group number here']").trigger("click");

But that was largely me making stuff up and hoping for it to work.

Edit: To illustrate just how clueless I am, I can't even display any of the above as code :p

This is what tragikos included in the simultaneous giveaways creation script.

var groupId = "1898"; // Change this for the right group id

function applyGroup() {
    $("div[data-checkbox-value='groups']").trigger("click");
    $("div[data-group-id='" + groupId + "']").children('div').eq(1).trigger("click");
}

Is that what you were looking for?

If I recall correctly groupid = "1898" is the identity of private giveaways
