A few days ago i bought a THQ pack from Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B1GFKCA/ref=oh_d__o03_details_o03__i00) and i gave away most of those keys if not all of them. Now i have people all over my ass claiming that they i gave them doesn't work, they say it was used in other account.

The strange thing is that those guys, come 5, 6 or 7 days later AFTER i sent them the key to claim this. I used to hold a flawless reputation on Steamgifts.com but now it has chnaged because of those games.

So in my opinion it is:
1.- THQ game keys are not working anymore because they went bankruptcy
2.- Amazon suck at delivering game keys and they accidentally give the same key to several people at the same time

The reason for number 2 is because one of those guys that asked me about this, i managed to ask for a replacement to Amazon and they never asked anything, they just replaced it right away, saying that they requested a new key from the game manufacturer. Proof. http://gyazo.com/44b7fe17de5600149014db94c7839888

The moral of a fable is... Do not buy games from Amazon, and do not buy THQ games anymore, THQ disappeared a seems like those keys doesn't work anymore.

Discuss.

EDIT: Seeing many people that say that those games are not Steam redeemable keys, here is a review from one of the users that bought it.

Company of Heroes: GOTY was not a steam key. It said nowhere on the page it was steam redeemable and was stated in multible places on the steamgifts forum that it was not. It is not even an option to give away, you instead decided to put it as Company of Heros: Gold. You deserve the negative feedback in my opinion.

The key in question was Company of Heroes: Game of the Year, when i created the giveaway just went with the one that was the closest to what i had at the moment.

And this is taken directly from my Amazon Games and Software library.
Are you gonna tell me that Game of the Year isn't Steam? Oh and also if Gold is not a Steam game, why is it even in the list of games from Steamgifts?

Gold is a steam game, however GOTY is not. If its not on the create giveaway list its most likely not on steam. If it is on steam, file a support ticket for permission to mark it as something else.

Didn't you notice that the format of the key was different from all the other ones? If I'm not mistaken, that key is in sets of 4 characters, whereas all the other keys in that pack are in sets of 5 characters.

Read the reviews on that budle dude. Of course every game says DOWNLOAD next to the title but yet you are able to reddem those keys, then why Company of Heroes - Tales of Valor, Darksiders, Homefront, MX vs ATV Reflex, Nexuiz, Red Faction Armageddon, Red Faction Guerrilla winner haven't had any problems? Seriously YOU are the one that should read carefully before commenting, if im wrong, please enlighten me and tell me the part where it says that CoH: GOTY is not steam key.

The fact that it doesn't say "Steam required" would be it. If it is Steam, this is the first time I've ever seen Amazon fail to mark that.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Amazon actually only started very recently marking all games as steam or not. Before December, it was very commonplace to not have a DRM mark anywhere on the pages, hence confusion regarding steam and non-steam versions

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

When you click on the individual games, it shows you more info about each one. When you go here, you'll notice it does not say "Steam account required", and the reviews say that it is not Steam redeemable.

Everywhere this bundle was advertised (cheapassgamer, here, reddit, etc), it was made a point that CoH GOTY was not a Steam key. That's why everyone here know this already and is telling you the same thing.

You should learn to read

CoH: GOTY

Nowhere on that page, which I clicked into from the THQ Mega Pack you linked, says it redeems on Steam. We only said that game in particular wasn't redeemable on Steam, not all the games in the pack.

If it doesn't say it is, than it isn't. Whenever buying a game on a site other than steam always F3 and search "Steam". If nothing comes up, you probably can't redeem it on steam.

thq bankruptcy doesn't mean their key will no longer work,in truth, all digital stores are still selling them, and thq official store is still open http://shop.thq.com

some thq keys from amazon are not steam reedemable, such as company of heroes goty, dawn of war series, that is your question

Something in amazon bundle not reedemable on steam:(wonder why somebody is still giving these away)

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Gold

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Winter Assault

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Dark Crusade

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Soulstorm

Company of Heroes Game of the Year

In addition to Company of Heroes: Gold not being a Steam key, it seems like Amazon promptly and easily fixed your problem. So why all the hatred? Amazon has great deals and excellent customer service.

And the idea of THQ keys not working anymore is completely inaccurate and uninformed.

It is still your responsibility to check what you purchase and what you give away on this site. If you purchased The Sims 3 from Amazon and then tried to give it away here, just to have the winner say the key doesn't work because the version Amazon sells is for Origin, is that your fault or Amazon's fault?

Company of Heroes: GOTY Edition is not Steam redeemable, and somehow you're blaming Amazon for something you should have checked prior to purchasing the bundle.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your edit, but if you click the link to the product (i.e. COH: GOTY) from the THQ Mega Pack product page, you'll see that it doesn't say anything about using Steam. In fact, there's a customer who's slightly disappointed that the game does not activate on Steam.

The thing that bugs me more than anything is calling your story a "fable." Well, you are correct in one way - your story is fiction, and fables are fictional. Your stab at a "moral" is pretty stupid and ignores the other, more obvious morals like "you can't read," or "the winners sold their keys." But you lack the anthropomorphized animals/objects which would have helped make this a true fable. Perhaps you could personify the COH key so it would say, in a gruff, drill-sergeant manner "hey, ya moron, read my DRM requirements before ya post me on Steam Gifts."

Then it would be a very nice fable for all of us to read.

lol, this thread is ridiculous. Amazon didn't do anything wrong. If OP had taken the time to read what about what he was buying then this issue would've been avoided. All products which are redeemable on steam have "DRM: Steam" written below the title on their product page. If Alffie is going to point fingers at innocent people for his own screw up then I'll be sure to avoid him and his giveaways in the future.

You should close your thread as the mistake was made by you and not by THQ or Amazon.

Whenever I had problems with Amazon they immediately fixed the problem when I mention it to them and they have been making crazy deals for everyone to enjoy. They surely don't deserve someone like you to bring people in a flame war just because you can't read and assume they're responsible for your mistake.
