I block these manually with ublock origin, but with every new bundle comes a new ad, and I have to block it again. Annoying for sure but it is what it is.

Yup. I keep adding new blocks but it keeps on coming through as a new banner or something. But this one being put between games is definitely the most annoying.

I didn't mind the ones on the bottom nor the ones on the side but yeah have like 3 in the middle of a list of 10 was kind of annoying.

So far - not really, at least not yet.. If it helps SG to stay online longer - I'm fine, as long as long as those ads are not annoying and don't break site layout. If they will become annoying or will start breaking layout as usual - well, I'll block those too ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What are you talking about? The site getting riddled with more and more fanatical ad banners every week in exchange for one community pool every 2 months has been the best trade deal in the history of trade deals for us users, maybe ever! Staff is working really hard coming up with new ideas where they can squeeze them so that they'll inconvenience users the most while also making sure that they're hard to block.

Edit: I just read a comment posted below about how we probably shouldn't be talking about specifics of how to block ads here. I didn't really think about it earlier, but now I'm debating whether I should remove this comment. I was just trying to help people that wanted to remove them, but now I'm not sure, it does feel kind of wrong.
Edit 2: I have decided to remove the list of things I have blocked.
I blocked them and more showed up. I blocked those too and then I noticed one today that was called ".dont_block_me".
Here's the top and bottom of my page. Nice and clean :)

ABP AdBlock Plus was designed to ALLOW ads to pass through as long as they are unobtrusive. This is the first time I have seen ads on Steamgifts in years. Good job Fanatical! If you make ads that that are not obnoxious, I will allow them on my webpages.
A non-hostile revenue stream for SG? Good.

They bother me so much!!
I didn't see them in between giveaways yet, but saw it on the homepage below the giveaways, on the left below the 'My Giveaways' part, on giveaway pages, etc. and I keep blocking them and new ones keep popping up!
Not sure what Steamgifts is doing but they will, in the long run, lose members on this crap since it's just too much!!

I manually block them with uBlock as well. But the one on the left I can't. It seem to be too many smaller parts instead of one big thing I can block.

I posted my filters above here if you want to try them. You may not want them all though because I have a couple other things blocked like the camera button and everything at the bottom of the page. The ones at the end of the list are the newest. The last 5 should be for the new Fanatical ads, but I'm not sure which were for the side bar, so maybe try them one at a time if you want.

Will try it out. Thank you, I appreciate it. <3 ^-^/

At least we don't need to click the ads to join giveaways (yet).

I let them be, they're not too bothersome compared to other sites.

(Speaking quite generally as I have no clue what has been said elsewhere here in the past, and this is not meant as a reply to anybody in particular but simply my feelings on the matter, for whatever they may be worth...)
What anybody blocks in their browser running on their device(s), is largely their own business (and hooray for PCs as open systems!)
OTOH discussing specifics of how to circumvent or block advertising on the site itself enters a very tricky area, IMO.
At the very minimum, there is a risk to invite an escalation, as the inclusion of more and more ads over time is a clear and unequivocal sign. And flaunting and promoting the techniques to defuse those ads can be perceived not just as an existential threat, but peppered with a full load of "fuck you", too.
Those ads can be shoved down everybody's throat very ungracefully, the moment it is deemed appropriate or necessary, so threading lightly doesn't seem the worst idea that I've ever heard.
2 cents and all that and I'm out of here again

What works best for me so far:
uBlock Origin and add following:
www.steamgifts.com##.fanatical_description
www.steamgifts.com##.fanatical_summary
www.steamgifts.com##.dont_block_me.widget-container--margin-top.widget-container > div > .table > .tablerows > div.tablerow-outer-wrap > .table__row-inner-wrap > div

They are ok for me. Not really intrusive. Not jumping at my face, hiding whole screen, flashing or hiding exit button. Just of key shop on a site about gaming and game keys... Also fanatical is so far ONLY one site that I'm happy with their customer support. Can't get mad at them for something like helping run this site with mild advertisement.

Hi, well atleast remove them from between givewaways clearly that doesn't work and a last straw for some (like me).
Others might have issues with other places, well i think some peoples comments in this thead will give some suggestions, or perhaps make an official thread asking who bothers what. a poll who turned to adblockers? Etc.
It seems many feel "forced" to use an adblocker this way and clearly not your intentions as well.

I am happy, that it is Fanatical ads, because I am buying bundles there.
But I feel it same, it should be good to have them only on sides and not among the GAs.
I think the more ads will be there, the higher % of people will block them all, so they should not be intrusive and people will not block them.

It would be curious to know how many users would disable ads completely, if given the option. Then complain that site's don't generate good content for free. :p

Besides the Patreon you support the site with each click + purchase on a store link in any discussion on steamgifts (https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/referrals , it is automatically set to yes, so sg earn with/from each one that don't deactivate it -on the most stores would that mean 5-8% of the paid money of the purchase go to sg [add/count this up for all the users that buy bundles...]-), the additional ads (if you see and click them) and your made GAs (because that make the site alive, generate the 1 Mil.+ userbase and make the site interesting and companies better paying for ads).

Fanatical should sponsor giveaways here really, getting so much advertisement.
