Q+A Section

Q: What is Steam "Greenlight"?

Steam Greenlight is a system that enlists the community's help in picking some of the new games to be released on Steam. Developers post information, screenshots, and video for their game and seek a critical mass of community support in order to get selected for distribution. Steam Greenlight also helps developers get feedback from potential customers and start creating an active community around their game during the development process.

Remember to VOTE "yes" for the games you would like to hopefully get Steam keys for in the future.

Q: So .. When do I get the Steam keys though?

  • A: You will get Steam keys when 1) The game gets enough Yes votes to become GreenLIT, 2) The dev of the game releases the keys, and 3) DIG distributes the keys to you

P.S. - Want to know what other bundles are going on? Check out the MASTER LIST of ONGOING BUNDLES - w/ RaCharts™ (updated daily!) ?

Wondering what games you already own from this bundle? There's an extension/ UserScript for that! It's called the RaChart™ Enhancer, created by my friend and fellow SG member Sighery!

This script enhances the charts by showing you which games you already own from the ones in it. If you own it, the row will be highlighted with a green color.

Might be better to list them this way if it's ok with you. They aren't meant to be permanently in that thread. (if I leave the space for you to erase does it save you time or not?)

Gates of the Road

oh yeah that helps a lot! :)

and thanks for the effort. tbh though, i won't always have time to link itch.io links. People can find that if they really want by doing a quick google search. I have time during the summer to put such info, but once i go to back to university in august, I won't really have the time to do extensive research on outside links >_<

sometimes it confuses people to put such information, so I don't really include these itch.io links since I assume people can find them on the Greenlight page or can look it up on google. I think basics are best, but ... again not trying to squash your efforts and helpfulness. I love seeing you post all this info and i think if people do find it helpful, they'll definitely appreciate it. I've included the above links in the OP!

Some users have been requesting the itch.io equivalent for games on Barter. They don't exit there yet but I can tell it might be a potential problem if I don't at least make notes about them. Hence the thread, so it's not a lot of effort from my part.

Speaking honestly I never found any itch.io links directly from the Greenlight pages. Google's been very helpful though, cause sometimes the search engine on itch.io fails.

And thanks :3

oh! that makes sense. I didn't know if you were doing it because you had extra time on your hands.

But I guess if you provide any itch.io links, I'll go ahead and include them in the OP when i have time ^^

The formatting with the spaces is just fine ^^ Because if you don't include it, it means more copy + pasting work for me.. So any pre-formattted stuff would save me a lot of time and headache.

Thank you so so much ❤ If it will help the barter.vg users, then by all means, I'll do my best to accommodate (given i have the time when i get home from class/work)

Ok if I remember i'll post the itch.io stuff I'll come across ^^

It won't be just for the barter people though. It'd be useful info for anyone who's interested in itch.io, cause they'd look and think, ah bundle A has X game in in it.

Also thanks for being accomodating, take some time for yourself though.

sorry, that's what i meant. Not just for barter people, because i assume that many people who don't use barter would still find the itch.io links. No worries if you don't find the itch.io links though. As long as the basic info is there, it's a good start to get people informed. But I agree with your reasoning!

Ok, time to check my notes... Let's see:

  • "Clumsy God" has been in Groupees 'Jamesbuc's Itch.io Gems' bundle.
  • "Nary" has been in Groupees' Build a Greenlight 44 bundle.
  • "Green Ranch" has been in Groupees' Build a Bundle 16 & DIG's 'DIG Greenlight Bundle 6' bundles.

Hmmmmm...

Through Hardships to the Stars could be good, who knows. I wouldn't vote 'yes' on it, but no way of knowing if the game mechanics actually work or not.

Nary and Green Ranch aren't the type of games I play, but I know there are lots that do (inparticular that green ranch variety)

It's interesting that even though links to claim both games on itch.io were included in the bundle, only the one for ...Hardships... works. Nary just redirects to the game page, with no ability to claim. Obviously, since there is nothing to download for either, it doesn't matter, but it's the principle of the thing.

I wonder why the developers pulled the DRM-free copies from itch.io? I personally like having both my future Steam key and the DRM-free download, but I see that some devs delete them once they are greenlit or get on Steam. This is why Groupees Greenlight bundles are superior, because they require that you upload DRM-free copies of Greenlight games to their servers, and the devs can't just willy nilly remove them later without a really good reason.
