Ok. The train has reached the end of the line.
Please remove all baggage and personal items before leaving your seats. Cause if i see something i like thats been left behind then i am stealing it. Everything else is going to the lost and found department.
Also, please be courteous and play the games you win on this event. Also don't complain if you don't win anything.
Last but not least, see you all same time next year.

Gotta give this a bump. Nice to see you back on SG Fiddler!

The game just has to cost 5P on SG. It's not how much CV you get, it's just how many SG points it takes to enter.
Don't worry about timezones, just start it on September 1 and end September 28. They won't all end at the same time, it's fine, go with what's convenient.
Although I believe the "on Sept 1" is an error, and it should be "on or after Sept 1". Fiddler just didn't want them starting before the 1st.

Looking forward to another community train!
Wish I would have spotted this earlier as I just listed a bunch of spare keys. Oh well, there's more where they came from. :)

The rules must be misstated.
The train will not work if all giveaways have to start on Sep 1 and end on Sep 28. That's too short a window for giveaway creation.
If not changed, this train is doomed.

Just wait until tomorrow, then you'll be able to create giveaways that end on September 28th.
I assume the first 2 carts will violate this rule since they have already been created, but that's not a big deal. The rest of the train will end on the right day.

Time zones are a mysterious thing.
Cause my GA ends on the 28 (for me atleast)

Eh, we'll live. :)
Again, I think Fiddler just didn't want any giveaways to start way before September 1st - if it's a few hours before the 1st for some people, that's fine. You could also just look at the start time and date of the current giveaways, and start yours after that point, and that'll be fine.

can we do something about "Profile Features Limited" games? = not flooding Support with rerolls when train will end?
i usually ask to check new/unknown games at Steam ( check you actually don't own it, same of what happens with DLCs)... cause i really won't file a reroll ticket if winner already own it...

Got 3 options.
Option 1 : straight out not allowing them.
Option 2 : simply adding a warning for GA makers and having them use their own discretion
Option 3 : asking people to add a disclaimer to their GAs saying to check if you already own this game.
Sure there are more, maybe even better. But thats what i thought of for now.

1st is the most effective, but, imo, very very hard to apply ("oh i didn't know, gonna remove it, so this is not cart 356 but 355" and so on). plus we'll gonna miss chances at a big bunch of good games :P
2nd looks to me like best one, and kinda perfect if you also add 3rd option.
also, would be nice to hear Support on this
(i never share those games publicly, only in whitelist or small groups)

What is a "Profile Features Limited" game exactly?

Newly published games on Steam have to meet specific criteria to be fully approved. Until then they are fairly limited in their presence, they cannot incorporate trading cards, they won't be featured on user profiles, nor do their achievements count towards the stats, and the most important thing for us is that SG cannot recognize them during account sync, which is a pain in the ass cuz you need to check all winners manually.

Hello everyone. Its almost September.which means its almost time for the annual Community train. the last one ended up being the longest train on site with 4500 total GAs. so
The OG behind this event is Xarlor who came up with the first community train .
it was done again by UserCar007 with some changes that i have decided to keep. which were disallowing DLCs and adding a game value requirement .The Third one was done by me .And I was greatly helped by Canis and icaio. And i was just informed that there was a 4th one byDragoZeroNova
Must Start on September 1 on the earliest
Must end September 28
No region restrictions
Set to "Invite Only"
Game value 5P or more
No DLCs
Set Contributor Level no higher than 4
Post URL in the comments of the last cart in the train.
If there is already a link for another cart in the comments of the last cart, wait until a new cart is added.
Number your cart in the description.
In case of games that haven't been released yet and games that were just added to the SteamGifts database. they will have a 0P cost until release or the Database catches up. so the rule for those is that as long as their cost wont be 5P once that happens , then the game is good. it is easy to figure out what the price range is going to be by simply look at the store page. had to add this rule mid event cause there was nothing about stuff like this and i honestly didn't think about it.
No Games that are currently being given away for free (that means at the time you make your GA)
Check your GA comments regularly until you get a link for the next cart. You are responsible for adding the NEXT link in your GA description to keep the train
growing.
All aboard
