I am thankful for that person in my life who reminds me that life is not just about work.

I admire my mother for caring for my father during the 15 years since his disease started showing its ugly face.
I also admire my father for having a positive view of his life and future even after all he has been through.
(:

I am so proud to say I have 2 mom's. One who gave me life and one who took care of me for my whole life. Now she is finally retiring and going back to her home city, and I'll miss her so much. I'll definetly visit her 1 or 2 times per year, but she'll be missed.
The most caring and selfless person I ever met. She carried me to school when I said my legs were tired, and I was like 5, not so light wheight. And she always tell this and other stories with tears of joy in her eyes.
Thank you for reminding me this, gave me another moment to think how special she is in my life.

My friend since 7th grade some years ago stopped communicating with me because I was an asshole. After some time I reformed my life. A few weeks ago I called him. It had been many years since we spoke. He took my call. I apologized for being a bad friend and an asshole. He said, "There is no keeping of accounts in friendship." He graciously let all offenses go, and we are friends again. What generosity!

Thank you to... my mom who will, no matter how much we fought, no matter how much we have an argument about whether or not an air purifer should be turned off or on when an air conditioner is turned off, would 99% of the time be there for me, and care for me. The sad thing is we never mentioned this to each other until someone is gone. (don't worry both of us are still here)

Does myself count?
I've been sober since 2017 and cigar free since 2016
If any of you is going through the same, don't give up, it's hard, live a day by day.
I fuckin suck at advices :)

My twin is pure sunshine.
She was there for me, always, even when I screwed up bad, to help me pick up the pieces and make myself whole again. She's a teacher and helps many through their hard times, never complain, and never gives up on anyone. She gives me advice when I need it, willing or not; she gives me music when I'm down; she gives me laughter when I'm down, and she never fails to kick my ass when it needs kicking.
She's been my sunshine since I was born a tiny squirt and my heart couldn't keep a steady beat. They put her right next to me and just like that our hearts started beating as one.
(PS: I also admire your friend. Procrastination is the land I live in and it's not easy to always be on task!)

My parents for always being there for me when I need it (and even when I don't need it but just want an ear), my sibling who is my best friend, my grandparents who, though I rarely see them, I admire them and didn't appreciate them enough until they started going downhill in their health. An elderly lady who is now on her deathbed who was always cheerful and positive, had good advice when requested. I often reset my outlook on life via a conversation with her, even when i didn't realize I had slipped into cynicism.
My friends gathered as a result of this site and discord.

My Parents.
Sure it sounds cliche but I respect and love them more then anything.
I can call and talk about any issues I may have and get good advice.
They are always there for me and I will always be there for them.
When I grew up and became an adult I was shocked to learn not everyone felt this way about their parents. It made me appreciate them all the more.
My mom drives to town and has lunch with me after work about once a week. I enjoy these times.

My mom and my godfather have always been inseparable since they were kids and ever since my godfather made the choice to finally leave his toxic and abusive wife, my mother welcomed him to stay with them (my mom and little brother) for as long as he needed.
During the beginning of his stay with them, he always seemed really down and rarely left his room, barely ate, barely spoke to anyone.
That was about 3 years ago.
Now, he's so full of life. The times I visited them, I could see the big difference of how he was then and how he is now.
He cracks jokes every chance he gets, he turned a patch of dirt into a beautiful garden, he takes in stray dogs in the neighborhood and gives them away once they're properly trained - to people who need them (mostly our elderly relatives who could use a dog just for a little bit of security in their homes especially during this pandemic), he's always busy repairing appliances or organizing the mess which is the basement and just doing other chores in general.
I'm thankful that he helps my mother every day, not just with chores around the house and guaranteeing that my mother and little brother are safe and cared for but also for providing a kind and nurturing father figure for my little brother since our father is overseas.
More than that though, I'm really grateful and proud of him that he chose to take care of himself instead of allowing the curve-ball life threw at him to knock him down.

My co-worker, who's always willing to be a rubber duck when I try to work out some issues and is always willing to have a look through my work. Okay, fine, he does get paid to be there, but it's not in his job description and he could just tell me "Nah".

I am extremely thankful for an old boss of mine. She was hired into the manager position and she quickly realized that my small little team was running on empty. We were all stressed and about to collapse completely. She managed to find a resource to hire and add to the team. Things finally started to be better on the team. We could finally keep up with the demands that were being placed on us. The manager has now moved on to bigger and better things, but I do say a small prayer regularly for her assistance. And since we are talking about the team at work. WOW. I have two incredible work mates.

I'm thankful to my mom which, despite sometimes I'm a stupid person and have a short fuse, has the patience of a god.

Here's the event*:
Write down one good thing about a person in your life (humanoid, who's alive and a-kicking) and I send you a message with a ticket to board the mini-train **.
Any person, I don't care who it is. I ain't taking names.
You write one positive thing about them- no caveats, no cynicism, no backsies... commit to the positivity- and you get your ticket (sooner or later).
I'll kickstart with this:
Games on the train:
Rise & Shine, The Little, Acre, Oxenfree, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Fluffy HordeAlso I've wiped the slate clean (BL begone) so all are welcome to participate.
Also 2, you can take a peek here to see if there's something extra for you.
If you're only interested in +1 for your games library without actually playing the game- that's just fine by me.
If you want to only comment but not to subsequently be spammed by me because you're uninterested in the train- that's just as fine, so just say so.
*Winners who weren't sent a ticket will be well-wished, then swiftly rerolled.
**If you've never made any public GA I can't send you a ticket for technical reasons, but if you make one during the period of this train and let me know then I'd be happy to correct this.
💛
