Well me & Waxlor had a discussion about this before we made the event and were aware that whatever we will do there always be some people that won't agree, but somewere you have to draw a line.
And it's superduper hard, it's there because we simply wanted all those lower lvls that still are sort of new here & put in alot of work, but maybe gets left in the shadows for different reasons.
So we thought it's their time to get some well deserved minutes in the spotlight for once, im sure Waxlor will jump in here tommorow to fillup on this.
I hope you have understanding tho, i mean it's nothing bad against people that managed to become casual gifters uber fast.
We are actually trying to do this for a good cause, but yeah it's hard too keep everyone satisfied. :|

I'm actually grateful for the level 5 limit. With dozens of worthwhile candidates above level 5 that come to mind off-hand, these events tend to be far too exhausting a popularity contest, or whimsical "Okay, I'll pick this person today" affair.

Here, we've got guidelines on activity traits and a narrow level selection pool.
Makes it a bit easier.

Plus side, since everyone that usually gets nominated for these things is level 6+, the level 5 limit does a good job of serving the stated intent of this thread, to make sure more overlooked individuals get nominations.

I think it's actually a rather good judgement call. :)

But yeah, way too many awesome level 6+ people, and not enough ways to express gratitude- I feelja. . =O
