This morning I wanted to create a multi-group giveaway before the new year. While creating the giveaway I realized I wasn't following the official game group like I thought I was. I joined the group, synced my account, but it didn't show up. I thought maybe there was a delay in syncing groups, so I waited. It's been over 12 hours now, I synced my account again just now but it still doesn't recognize me as a member of the group. I did a search, but I only found [one post[(http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/rMfSy/group-syncing-issue-possible-fix) from 6 months ago which makes it sound like it's a common problem. The workaround in the post suggests setting the group to your primary group before syncing, but you can't set an official game group as your primary group.

There is less than an hour left of 2015 for me, is there anything I can do to get the group to sync?

i don't know, have you tried syncing several times in a row?
the same happens to your steam wishlist and it's the only way to fix it, maybe it also helps for groups.

I tried that, it didn't work. I haven't had a problem with wish list syncing. When I synced this morning, a game I just put on my wish list synced just fine.

"Official Game Group"?

The official groups used to be like normal game groups, but now they've rolled them into the community sites. You join the official group now by going to a game's store page and clicking the follow button.

That's what I thought you meant. Afaik, there isn't any way to include those for sg purposes.

Odd, not a single one of mine ever did/does, and I was in them before I joined this site 7+ months ago, I think. :/
(At which point they were already not acting as groups, I imagine, since I didn't see any indication otherwise.)
Don't think I've followed any games since, however.
