Happened to me once. I emailed the gift and the winner activated and emailed me back saying thanks.
But the winner did not mark as received.
I messaged the winner through steam chat and he kept on saying that he'll do it later. Waited a month and it was still no marked as recieved. Had to contact support to manually mark it.

this was in the earlier days... one would hope that how the site handles rerolls is better now...
it was a smallish group.. one guy won the game... but in the mean time he'd already won it in another giveaway. while waiting for the giveaway to be rerolled, i won the game in a different giveaway (it was a widely given away game at the time) - anyway, you guessed it, i won the reroll. so the game was rerolled again, and the original guy got picked again... game was rerolled once more, and my name got picked again... finally on the 4th reroll, someone who didnt have it, won :D

First fake win 3 weeks ago. Have screenshot.
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
Not mad about it. Thanks for the gib though.

I did a giveaway for a major franchise pack, and the winner proceeded to try and sell it in the Steam forums. Sadly he didn't get a lifetime ban. Other than that, nope, all of my winners accepted the gift/key and marked as received in short order. Most even said thanks.

Once I had to request a re-roll three times for a giveaway.
Yep, you've guessed it; DeltaBlade's Fortix event...

I had one winner who tried to re-gift a couple of his previous wins and his Steam profile honestly looked like an alt account. No play time on a single game, account made close to Christmas, practically everything was bundled, offline for more than a week straight but checked SG daily. Super sketch. Probably stays logged in on his real account.
I asked for a re-roll which I believed was denied when support told me "the user has already been suspended for his offenses and is considered a valid winner now." I was fine accepting the not received mark. But then a month later my request was approved...? I think it's likely someone would do something else with the copy of the game by that time, but luckily it was still sitting in my inventory so I didn't have to buy it again at full price for the new winner. Btw, the original winner hasn't signed on Steam in 130 days now but still checks SG daily even though he's been permanently suspended. Strange...
For another giveaway I got another winner whose profile looked like an alt. :/ But it'd be the most impressive alt I've ever seen... 800+ games in library. It's hard to be mad if it's an alt and they are that dedicated lol.I just sucked it up and gave him the game despite my suspicions. And he added it to his inventory! I msg'd him a few days later and asked if he planned to activate his win and he says "forgot. done." :c

I had one winner who spammed comments demanding their win. I had been offline for a whole day after the GA had ended, and when I logged in steam, I saw about 20 comments on my profile saying like "Give me a game now", " You're a liar/scammer", "Reported you to Steam." They were so childish that I felt pity rather than anger.
I also had a winner who had won over 60 GAs, of which they hadn't redeemed at least 10 games (stopped counting there, so I'm sure they had more unredeemed games.) I was so glad when they got permanently suspended :P

I heard about SG thru another forum and joined theIr private group since it seemed well organized and with good people. I lurked for a bit and then made a few giveaways. One of my early winners never came online but being new here i had already sent him the code. After 7 days i asked for a reroll but support couldn't because of the code being out there. His profile is private whenever i used to check so to this day, i don't know if he used the key or traded it or what.
A winner after him i noticed had been regifting so asked for a reroll but again i had innocently sent the code. I believe that winner ended up banned permanently for multiple reasons.
Anyways , learned a few things since then and definitely am more wary. I don't send codes anymore without talking first and looking at profiles, whether in a group or not.

So, I currently have a giveaway pending. When the first winner was rolled, I added him, e-mailed him, gift e-mailed him, all of which went with no response. I requested a reroll, which was granted, and now the new winner already owns the game and asked me to give it to someone on his friends list. After THAT conversation, the original winner added me on Steam, and proceeded to demand his game, calling me a liar about adding him, to the point of refusing to believe the screenshot of him sitting on a friend request, which was sitting next to my inventory showing that I had e-mailed the gift.
Now I'm waiting on ANOTHER reroll... fun. Anyone else have stories of annoying giveaway results? Users spamming you with invites and comments demanding their win, non-winners trying to weasel the game out of you, llamas, or other giveaway tomfoolery? Post it here! Just remember, NO NAMING. This is not, should not, and WILL NOT, be a name and shame thread.
In the meantime, in the spirit of gambling away time and effort on these giveaways... here's a gambling game giveaway!
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/qguZe/the-four-kings-casino-and-slots
Four Kings is a casino game by Digital Leisure. Anybody that used PlayStation Home may recognize the shape of the virtual casino, as DL is the company that created the Casino inside PS HOME, and Four Kings is a recreation and improvement. While 4K will be free when it comes out of early access, this gift grants the following benefits:
Giveaway ends on the 24th, the day before my PTO vacation ends. I will add the winner on Steam and gift directly.
So, yo dawg. Gamble your SteamGifts points on this gambling game, while I gamble my time and effort for a chance to have another giveaway end in tears and frustration. Enjoy!
