I got a -rep on steamtrade from someone who I have no idea is. He says that I am a lowballer...

Last week, someone told me to sumit a ticket and ask to remove it, so I went to "Support" and sumit a question about it, but I still haven't got the reply.

Can anyone help me with it? I have attempted to talk to that person who gave me the -rep, but it didn't work.

Thanks :)

Maybe someone doesn't like you and that's why he gave you that -rep? Is it legit?

I have never been rude to anyone, how could someone dislike me?

I don't have a bad profile picture too... :/

If he said lowballing then it has to do with a trade offer that you've made before that was not a fair offer (as in you'd benefit a lot more from it). That's the basic gist of it anyways. Do you ever remember anything like that? If not then he's just giving random negative rep which is worse than if the incident did take place and he neg repped.

I couldn't remember that I have done lowball offer during that period of time, I don't even think I have seen that person...

You don't have to know a person to be given a positive or negative rep.

I did, but those offers aren't lowballing at all :p

Well, you were trying to lowball his offer. But still that's not a valid reason to give -rep.

You are right, he wasn't suppose to give me -rep even if I have gave him a lowball offer

Why not? Might be warning others that a trader is looking to take advantage. Not sure that's the case with the OP, but in principle, why not?

Edit: Yes, if rules said that's inappropriate use of the feedback mechanism, then it would see the OP has a valid point of complaint.

You mean the rules that are never updated or amended?

The rules are applied. It's just sometimes the staff are slow with all the requests they receive.
The rules are only updated when needed.

Why not? and this is why they need to start suspending people for 6 months who write false negative rep. Read the damn rules before trading.

If the person won't remove it themselves, all you can do is wait for Support to get around to it, and I gather that there are only one or two mods able to handle it with quite a backlog, so it might be a while. Fortunately you've got enough positive rep that no one should be too worried about dealing with you in the meantime.

In my opinion, lowballing is pretty bad. I won't write negative rep over it, but I will tell them to fuck off.

It's part of the reason I don't care about steamtrades or trading in general anymore. It's all about me me me, and no one cares about anyone else.

I am not that kind of lowballer, maybe it's just that I gave him an offer while the game is on sale, but he wants a much better offer...but I still can't remember that I have sent him an offer :p

He gave you -rep for "lowballing", but... HE IS HIGHBALLING. Wat

It's also possible that it was an innocent mistake, something along the lines of:

Trader buys game at full price (or nearly full price) somewhere, later tries to trade it for full value.

GTissueBox knows it was on an ultra-cheap sale or bundled or whatever since then, makes offer based on that.

Trader doesn't know game was on sale or bundled, sees low offer, freaks and gets mad and gives -rep.

In any case lowballing isn't a valid reason for -rep. There are plenty of reasons why someone might legitimately be willing to trade a game for less than what it's normally worth.

Lowballing isn't really a good enough reason to give -rep. Lowballing is too subjective, without knowing how much the original asking price is/was. Some people confuse bargaining with lowballing.

You have to wait. Support at st and sg is like valves, only much worse. Can take a very long time before the mods can feel like doing anything, so you'll just have to wait.

First ask him about it, if that doesn't work support is the only way.
