Because anywhere you find somebody try to do something nice, you'll find 10 scumbags looking for a way to exploit it.

Two options:

I think there should be a rule that giveaways with less than X (like 5?) entries should not be counted as a contribution.

Please learn how the site works before you talk about it. 1 entry private giveaways don't count.

If that's what you consider rude, then I think you should go back to watching Barney. It's common sense to understand something before you try to change how it works.

Ok, but I'm not talking about just 1 entry.

(This is not my suggestion, this is just extrapolation showing a certain flaw in the plan.)

In that case, it should work both ways: if the giveaway gets less than your "X" entries, then the creator should not be obliged to gift the game. I'm sure that solvers of difficult puzzles will be delighted: they'll crack a puzzle leading to a low-entry giveaway, and in the end, they'll get nothing, because there weren't enough others who would solve it too.

I always have problems finding where such things are written. Any chance you could point me to that?

Also, does this happen for public too? Because I think that Alexandria givers should receive their full points and maybe even bonus ones for making the site more fun.

Any thread where contributor giveaways are even mentioned, you will find this info, so about seven hundred times this week alone. ;) I'll bug loko about putting it into the FAQ if he hasn't already. And no, public giveaways do count to my knowledge. Group giveaways I'm not sure, but I don't think they do.

I know I've seen it a lot, but I don't think it's fair to criticise people for not knowing it if it's not in the FAQ. Hopefully we'll get the official word soon.

Failing at sneaking into contributor giveaways. Thats what they are doing. Needs more than 1 entry to count to contributor amount.

Why the hell are you linking them here? Just fucking report them and shut up about it. We already know people do this. We don't need up-to-the-minute info on who.

Why i should report them? I just want to understand what's fun make giveaway for themselves... that's all

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not fun, some people do it so they could enter contributor giveaways. When I say some people, I mean people who don't actually give those games to anyone, their friends enter those giveaways or they enter by themselves with multiple accounts and mark the gift as received while no one sent anything to anyone or even bought a game. They are cheating the system and that's wrong and it should be reported.

Also you are not supposed to post anyone's profile in cases like these on forums.

What's wrong with that? Maybe they just wanted to win something. Anything. Driven mad after hundreds and hundreds of fruitless entries. They just wanted a "Won" section to contain something and make them feel good about it.
