So I'm starting college in a two weeks and I'm wonder whether my university allows Steam.
I'm going to live in a shared flat so I'll be able to use it there anyway, so no big deal, but the University has a 40 Gb/s connection so it would be cool to be able to download games there.

Anyway, quick poll, does your university allow Steam?

EDIT: Just realized the cake. 100% a coincidence lmao.

Is Steam allowed in your University?

View Results
Yes, completely functional
No, I can't even log in
I can log in and play but I can't download
I can log in but I can't pay or download

What 40gb/s (that would be 320 gbit/s) or do you mean 40gbit/s? D:
Anyway happy cake day :D

I use capital B for bytes and small b for bits.
So yeah, 40Gbits/s.

I wish it had not been allowed when I attended. I distinctly remember ditching a lot of classes to play TF2 Beta with roommates. It's a miracle I made it out in 4 years.

My two-year college did not on the LAN, but they did on the wifi. The university I just stared at allows it on LAN.

Not allowed because it's prohibited play games online, even Osu! is blocked, also Instagram is blocked.

My Uni blocked steam for the campus wifi, couldn't log in. You could still use the steam web chat portal to log into steam that way, but obviously no games or game downloads through it. They blocked all IM clients too for that matter.

They didn't want students using the wifi to play games or chat during classes, and Steam got rolled into that list.

Happy Cake Day :)
I'm at the university library right now, and I can use Steam - but the (wireless) internet keeps getting disconnected, so it's not great... edit: and a friend of mine used to play Prison Architect and Antichamber on Steam during boring lectures ^^
I spent my semester abroad in Dublin, where they had a gaming society (like a club), an on PC gaming days we could use the shared Steam accounts on the university's computers with tons of games :3 (Or maybe they were the society's computers? Don't remember...)
