For me it'd be a tie between age of mythology and rise of legends/nations, those games pretty much dominated my childhood.
Hope you have a nice day molu13. :)

Jagged Alliance series, especially the first one. The Civilization series is another. None of the Civ games have produced the same rush I got from playing the original, although some have come close. I prefer turn based strategy because it allows me to think and min-max, probably a comfort I grew accustomed to during my competitive chess playing days. Although there have been some RTS games that I've really enjoyed as well (Warcraft series, Z, Company of Heroes, love the Total War franchise, etc).

So many games to pick from :3 I enjoyed the crap out of Europe Universalis 4, Hearts of Iron 4, Railroad Tycoon 2 & 3, Cities: Skylines, SimCity 5, Tropico 4, XCOM 1 & 2, Heroes of Might & Magic 2, 3 & 4, Sins of a Solar Empire, Stellaris (Hope it'll be better in the future though), Civilization 5 and hopefully 6 when it releases, The Room, Myst/Riven (Basically whatever I touched of those games I enjoyed). Just to name a few. I'm no doubt forgetting some gems :3

Oh, and also thanks for the giveaways of course.

From my early gaming days: Heroes of Might&Magic , Age of Empires 2, Warcraft 1&2,Master of Orion 1&2, Fantasy General, Lords of the Realmand this game ahead of its time.

Today it's harder to judge because I play a lot of strategy games.

  • Civ series (I, II, IV, V)
  • SM's Alpha Centauri (oh how I love and miss this game, shame that Beyond Earth was utter crap)
  • SM's Colonization (the classic one, the new one was abysmal)
  • RRT III (how is it possible that it still can't be topped?)
  • HoMM series (II, III, V)
  • Caesar III
  • Tropico (I, IV) (actually none of the sequels had I's charm).
  • EU series (I, II, IV)
  • CK series (both) (I played it for hundreds of hours, not reflected on my Steam account, as I had a press version before)
  • SimCity 3000 (I loved the humor and everything else)
  • XCOM (I somehow missed the original series)

Ancient by now: Kaiser, Hanse, Genghis Khan II, Dune (not the better known II)

All real favorites, strictly limited within the strategy/management genre, but I probably forgot some dear titles.

I loved the mount and blade serie which didn't require a lot of strategy and management, but still a little.

I loved Software Inc. and Gear City for game management and economy !

About strategy, I like Civilisation V and Total War rome II.

If you're looking for more strategy/management in Warband, I highly recommend 1257 AD mod if you've not tried it yet.
