I'm thinking of selling my PSP2000 and have the fund towards my next-gen PC. You know, Haswell is kinda... expensive.

But back to the topic, are you a type that keep the old consoles around even after you purchase a new one?

Still got my PSX (even invested 50 bucks getting new handhelds from ebay) and Gameboy Color. I am kind of a hoarder. :)))

I never sell my old consoles, in fact I tend to buy the ones that I don't have from the former generation :)

I have my old NES somewhere, with cartridges of Rescue Rangers, Jungle Book, Blades of Steel hokey and some other games. Took it with me to the University, but everyone wanted to play PS2 at the time, so we did not used it as much as I hoped.

Oh yeah, I sold PS2. LOL, forgot about that...

I don't, but I'm admittedly a hoarder when it comes to consoles, games, accessories and any other technology I find cool or interesting. I still have the gameboy pocket that I credit with 'starting it all', it was my first console. I even kept my Gamecube when I got a Wii.. A bit after the Wii came out, the place I worked was selling new in the box Gamecubes for $50, so I didn't really see the point in getting rid of it since I wasn't gonna make any money.

I refuse to sell any of my systems ever again, I sold my Game Boy Color & Nintendo DS and I regret both those decisions every time I think about it :(

I'll never sell my old consoles. I wish I still had my Mega Drive and Gameboys and shit. I'll hoard everything until I die.

I'd say it depends on whether you're using it (or intend to use it in the future). Of course, my original PlayStation stopped working years ago and I can't bring myself to throw it away.

I'd say wait, because with no backwards compatibility, older consoles may become somewhat pricey in the years to come.

It depends on the console. I've gotten rid of NES, Genesis, PS2, First Xbox over the years. I kept my Xbox for a long time as it was so easy to hack and basically turned it into my retro gaming center with ROMs and emulators. Still have 360 and PS3, but will likely get rid of them once the PS4 is out and has a decent library and/or that backwards compatibility cloud thing comes into effect. I'm not getting the XboxOne as it stands now.
