I sold my X360 half a year ago due to debts. First it felt like a loss, but after a week or so I realized that I miss nothing from my Xbox-owner life. Fucking nothing, save for 2 games, one of which is obtainable on the PS3. Half a year has passed, and still don't regret doing it. I don't need that shit.
Now, my Dreamcast and PS2, well, nope. Never getting rid of them. I know it's easy to emulate and whatnot, but I like that behemoth of a Dreamcast controller for some reason, and I enjoy Skies of Arcadia with its beeping cham-radar thingy that can only be experienced if you have a VMU. A little touch, but one I appreciate. And PS2? Bitch please, everyone who sells them are out of their minds. They'll regret it. You'll probably do too if you sell your PSP, I hear it's about as good actually. Hey, want to sell it for me real cheap? I planned to get one actually :D

I always sold my consoles(gb color, ps1, ps2, psp, xbox 360, ds) in order to buy a new console or something else(I had not so much money...) but I not so happy about it, sometimes i want to play some of the games I had but I can't (unless I use an emulator but it's not the same thing).

I never sell an old console unless it is either of the following:

too much $$ spent on 360. Wont ever be selling that. My PSP2000 I use as a potable Media player. Spent over 1000 hours using it as such.

I don't. Seldom get enough to justify selling them, and I like to go back and play older games. The system ages, but quality games remain good. Emulation is there but it's never quite the same feeling as playing on the original system.
If the platform truly has no games that your especially fond of though, or just meh/decent games or even if emulation is just as good as playing on the real system then sell it off.
Do it through ebay/craigslist/any random auction site though, not Gamestop et al.

No point buying Haswell. Go with Ivy Bridge ones. Haswell won't give you big performance boost for the money you'll spend.
About consoles - yes, I keep my old ones. But after thinking - I haven't even bought anything else than copy of NES/Sega (chinese one) and I still play Super Mario and Battle City 1994 on it. I don't need Xbox or PlayStation, classic is much better.

I'm thinking of selling my PSP2000 and have the fund towards my next-gen PC. You know, Haswell is kinda... expensive.
But back to the topic, are you a type that keep the old consoles around even after you purchase a new one?
