Curious about why people blacklist

People blacklist because ...

1. You didn't say thanks, they want common courtesy
2. You did say thanks - triggered by inbox notification
3. Giving others a chance (since you won, you are now disqualified for future)
4. To prevent people from entering for even temporary CV boost with "free games"
5. They can't enter your giveaways - private or region lock giveaways
6. For not 100% achievements on won games
7. For having too many games
8. For having too many wins
9. Bad ratio / few given away games compared to wins
10. Personal opinions expressed on forum

I think that's the top 10

For making any comment anywhere on this site.

Just added you to my blacklist because:

• your name is not a number
• there is too much Rena on your steam profile seriously - the way she talks drives me mad
• you have less than 1000 games and more than 100 and it's not 666 games
• too much lewd games on your wishlist

I'm pretty sure I was blacklisted for "necroing" a thread. I'm being serious.

well looks like i forgot to keep writting this post about 10 hours ago even though i had more ideas with it so i'll just do it now

Blacklist does not always equate to "I don't like you."

Sometimes it just means "I choose to give my games away to other people."

Those are not the same thing.

Just something to keep in mind.

Blacklisting is different for everyone, I rarely use it unless it's some obvious offence. And since most of my GAs nowadays are level 5 or group/WL, I don't care that much about leeching either. As others said, the SG community has a lot to offer, so don't be turned away by a few random blacklists, and keep exploring :)

When I did my cake day trains. So yeah, people here even BL you for making giveaways.

I only do it when someone has a really horrible ratio of giveaways to wins, because I don’t think it’s fair that they should win my GAs when they haven’t given back to others.

Don’t feel bad about being blacklisted though - look at it as incentive to create good giveaways, knowing that the people who blacklisted you will miss out on them!

The reasons for getting blacklisted are numerous. It can be a pretty judgmental community at times. I have blacklisted only 2: 1 for abusive behaviour and 1 for excessive begging. I have been blascklisted a few times but don't worry about it because from what I can see, I give out more games than they do. Since they can't enter any of my GAs, they hurt themselves more than any effect on me. Be a good giver and don't worry about it

blacklist happen everywhere for who knows what weird reasons, it could be what you typed, it could be your profile, etc.

But i mostly blacklist if someone trigger me or they are leechers

As has been stated by others, you can be blacklisted for any petty or valid reason someone comes up with or feels inclined to do at any given moment. I only have 1 blacklisted person, and it was due to abusive behavior. I believe in live and let live, so the only reason I will generally blacklist would be for someone being a complete jerk to myself or others. Also consider that with millions of members on SteamGIfts, getting a few blacklists is nothing to worry over.

Still received and activated the game.

I thought, "Well that's weird". But then I figured there might be some people who blacklist their winners so that they will only win one game from them.
