Indie Royale's St. Patrick's Day pre-order is now up.
FAQ

  • explosive first-person shooter with a future-leaning setting, available on Windows as a Steam key, Desura key and DRM-free download. (Hard Reset?)
  • jaunty Windows and Mac adventure game, available on Steam, DRM-free, and on Desura, arrr. (Jolly Rover?)
  • brainy Steam-enabled Windows and Mac title dispensing real-time strategy action. (Vertex Dispenser? or Archon?)
  • an Indie Royale exclusive Windows/Mac debut (DRM-free and Desura) for an acclaimed satirical platformer, plus a bonus - a DRM-free Windows RPG overhead shooter from the same creator. (DLC Quest and bonus Lair of the Evildoer?)

Note1: All above titles are purely speculations only for preorder, feel free to suggest the titles that might fit.

Note2: Sometimes desura will add the games after bundle launch, so it may not be available on desura now. Sometimes steam doesn't mean that the game is already launched in steam.

And Xotic also doesn't really fit. It's more fantasy then future. Shooter and explosive.. hmm, would fit, but also not that much.

Yep, I think that too. Peoples would just get it for a few dollars at indie royale then and would buy the Addon-DLC seperatly. And they want to sell the complete Extended Edtion to newcomers I think.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I thought Extended Edition is a patch, not DLC???
Like with Witcher.

They haven't announced yet if it's free or paid. But I think paid.

Twin Sector seems likely for the "explosive first-person shooter with a future-leaning setting." It's in the New Games section of Desura and it is on Steam.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

is not a shooter

twin sector is "post-apocalyptic future". action, adventure and not a shooter

I'm not even sure if it's indie. There is a different publisher listed.

same developer for Booster Trooper I guess that makes them indie?
Twin Sector just added to desura..

Hmmm... then it could really be the "shooter" if they added it to desura. But.. it isn't a shooter, thats strange :D

Why? For me there wasn't one IR that was really dissapointing yet^^ Only passed on the ... christmas one? I think it was christmas. That one with Dino D-Day (had that already and the rest didn't interest me that much, although I regret it now because Blackwell would interest me :D). Some peoples just seem to expect to much sometimes^^

Blackwell series is quite good, that alone worth the bundle.

I feel as if Indie Royale is constantly in the shadows of the Humble Bundle. Both are great deals but the Humble Bundle is too much to compare both.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

HIB is pay what you want charity bundle. IR is paid bundle two different models. Very hard to compare, unless you are talking about the games offered which is all together subjective on each games. For bundle just buy whichever you feel comfortable. As for me I see HIB as charity bundle, and IR as supporting indie dev.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I see both as supporting indie devs. It's easy enough to give nothing to charity on HIB.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nope. It's easy to give nothing to devs on HiB. So it's charity bundles.
And there is no way go give anything to charity on IR, so it's income and dev-support bundles.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah you are both right.. HIB is fully customizable :) so just configure as how you see fit.
I think most important factor to HIB is DRM free and cross platform, which is why it is most widely supported.

As for IR I think the alpha fund pack is the most exciting one, hope to see more in the future. Directly support in funding a project and in all cases we can influence the development feature to certain extend by alpha/beta testing and giving feedback directly to the developers. Talking bout alpha funding, I think cortex command from HIB still have not made a full release.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Still, more money goes on average to the devs than to charity on HIB, and in any case it's not "very hard to compare".

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

IR still makes more sense to me with the dynamic pricing. Stops idiots from farming bundles & abusing the 1€/$ or whatever limit.

But I dont mind, I bought every bundle so far (HIB, IR, IG and so on). Another good point about IR and others is that most of them give you seperate keys. That way you can give extra copies away to friends (I dislike trading extra copies for something else, I rather give them away).

I think HIB should raise the min again for steam keys, less abuse this way for sure. maybe around $3.

Indie Royale
The Indie Royale game bundle site - http://www.indieroyale.com/ - has announced its return with the St. Patrick's Day Bundle, including the acclaimed Hard Reset and the world exclusive PC/Mac debut of the hilarious DLC Quest.

This Bundle is headlined by Flying Wild Hog's Hard Reset, an explosive FPS with a dark sci-fi, cyberpunk setting, available on Windows as a Steam key, Desura key and DRM-free download. Hard Reset aims to scratch the old-school shooter itch with fast-paced action, while it appeals to new school fans with gorgeous visuals and a deep, experience-based weapon upgrade system - a Hard but fulfilling namesake.

Next up is Brawsome's Jolly Rover, a jaunty Windows and Mac 2D point-and-click adventure, available on Steam/DRM-free for both formats, and as a Desura Windows key. The acclaimed adventure game offers a humorous piratical narrative voyage, featuring dozens of fully animated and voiced characters, and even has a fully integrated hint system for those walking the difficulty plank.

Also featured in the bundle is the mathematically stimulating, Steam-enabled Windows and Mac abstract RTS game Vertex Dispener by Smestorp. Players learn how to manipulate vertices' colors on a geometric field, building color-coded powers for special abilities to defeat the opposition. Rounds can be played out solo or online with a friend across both Mac and Windows operating systems.

Rounding out the bundle is an Indie Royale exclusive Windows and Mac debut (DRM-free and Desura) with Going Loud Studios' acclaimed satirical platformer, DLC Quest. Dubbed the Xbox Live Indie Game of the Year in 2011 by Official Xbox Magazine, and now available outside of consoles, DLC Quest pokes fun at an industry seemingly obsessed with downloadable content. Before players can save the girl, they must play through 16 (faux!) DLC packs to enable animation, sound and even... pausing?

Two initial bonuses start out the Saint Patrick's Bundle, with more to come! Firstly, the creators of DLC Quest present the bonus DRM-free Windows RPG overhead shooter Lair of the Evildoer. In the amusingly scripted title, players collect over a score weapons and level up while battling hordes of monsters in randomly generated levels. Secondly, the creator of Vertex Dispenser has created Vertex Vortex Remix Cortex, a new puzzle re-imagining of Vertex Dispenser using just simple mouse controls, and exclusive to this Indie Royale bundle for DRM-free Windows & Mac download.

Those who pre-ordered or pay more than the minimum for this Bundle receive a retro bonus: the NES-inspired 15-track album, O.S.T: Original Soundtrack from Daniel Capo, available in FLAC and MP3 file formats.

As always, generous purchasers keep the bundle price low and give more to developers, as Indie Royale runs on its familiar five-day model where the price will automatically increase as more people buy the bundle.

More information on the St. Patrick's Day Bundle, including real-time statistics and its current price, is available at its official website http://www.indieroyale.com/
