That guy is awesome. It is also looking like he is going to get away because the FBI won't show the evidence they have against him.

Normally, I'd agree. When they aren't showing evidence, often it's a sign of lack of sticking or relevant, or even legally admissible evidence.

However, in a multi-million dollar international fraud, racketeering, laundering case where the internet's involved, it makes sense to keep tight lipped about what you have. Anything gets out, who knows? Some other potential targets for investigation or associated fraudsters might go to ground, sever ties with someone, change business location, change hosting, domain, etc. All kinds of ways to avoid getting in trouble legally.

Those charges are so silly I just can't take them seriously. Is there any sort of actual evidence or are they as made-up as they appear?

Heh, I'm surprised they haven't added sexual assault to the list. That's what the FBI usually goes for when they want to discredit someone.

Torrentfreak follows the thing pretty closely. Have you seen the racketeering evidence yet? :D

I don't like him because he's really fat, he's like a less productive version of Gabe Newell.

I hope you realise I'm not serious.

Kim Schmitz is an arrogant buffoon who made a fool of himself after 2001 with his utterly useless Young Intelligent Hackers Against Terrorism group of pseudo-hackers. He has also in the past been convicted for computer fraud, embezzlement and insider trading.
He's not some sort of folk hero, he's a fraud with delusions of grandeur.

You think anyone that is rich is rich because he/she is honest? lol, where do you come from?! Oo

Ofc he did all that! So what?! I still would trade every day of his life against mine. Except for the wife, i keep mine there ;)

Yes, you're right, my bad. Let's all praise the convicted criminals. They're such good role models, as long as they're rich.

I'm skeptical. I bet they gave him a deal, he puts MU back online and lets the FBI view traffic, to jail hundreds of people. After all 1,000 arrests is better than 1 for our prisons, which have an interest in keeping their cells full. I don't trust this.

In many countries, it's illegal to upload, but entirely legal to download copyrighted material. If this is the plan, the FBI could be a unleashing a screaming 40-yard volley into the top corner of their own goal...
