Try Tunngle. It works very well, but you HAVE to run the installation as admin, or it might break.

I don't know, but I've had a few friends have all sorts of trouble before we figured out why.

Haha not Tamagotchi! They're talking about an anime that stars hamsters I believe :)

Haha not Hamtaro! They're talking about those game-using videos hosted on a YouTube channel with an M logo I believe :)

Haha not Machinima! They're talking about the popular Japanese-style open grill restaurants I believe :)

Good riddidance to bad rubbish
(ok well not bad, but never originally designed for gamers)
Discerning gamers "who know" use https://www.evolvehq.com/welcome
the rest are using

I'm glad this is happening, so guys i'm playing with are forced to use an alternative.
Hamachi always wrote itself into autostart and changed its service from manual to autostart, for that reason i used a batch every OS start and after using hamachi, that checked and terminated service and process.

I'm using NeoRouter.
At one point, Hamachi decided that everything should be relayed. Carrier pidgeons would be faster.
At a different point, 5.x.x.x IP ranges started popping up on the internet, and Hamachi wrongfully used those (since forever?) for its VPN. NeoRouter uses 10.x.x.x, as it should.
Good riddance.

That's cool -.- even though hamachi hasn't actually worked on my computer in like forever because of a "vpn error", I actually use the remote desktop part of it for many things. Looks like I will have to just roll my own VPN to log into, then rdp into the computers I need to. Kinda annoying though

Congrats on switching from piracy to legit gaming. :-)

I still use Evolve to play games I own, like for example Starbound(and others) because me and all my friends are behind NAT and can't host on public IP...Using VPN does not equal piracy
Hell even my work firewall has a vpn software to connect from outside to our internal network for server maintenance and/or other things.

That comment is for Alientcp specifically, as both games he mentioned have working online matchmaking.

I've used Hamachi and Tunngle for quite some time, both were pretty good, and a few games only worked on tunngle, and vise versa.
Recently however I have found something called Evolve, go get it NOW. It's like an awesome blend of steam, Xfire and tunngle. It works on everything and works as a social platform (the way xfire and steam do) as well as actually work properly compared to tunngle and hamachi that only worked sometimes on some games.
I will never use anything but evolve again. Hamachi went down hill when they forced you to make a thousand rooms with your friends in it because they charged you for a room that can hold more than 5 people. RIP shitty programs, hello Evolve.

A simpler way to explain Evolve to people who haven't tried it, is it's Raptr with built in LAN and a generally similar, although slightly better feature set.

I only used Hamachi for Terraria and System Shock 2. I guess it's not too hard to find an alternative service

Is the SysShock2 Multiplayer playable nowadays? I remember playing it via LAN back in the days, but it was so buggy that we never made it past the medical-section.. wich is a shame, because it was so much fun in coop and the single-player-mode was one of the most bug-free experiences in my whole gaming-life ^^

I played through with a friend in 2007 or so without any problems other than the initial setup and trying to get multiplayer to work.
I havent really noticed any problems this time around, but we only played like an hour or two

Never liked Hamachi and he has never liked me, Hamachi can go die in a hole for all I care, I won't miss him or his perfectly trimmed chest hair. I gave him more then enough chances to get on my good side, Letting him hang out with my friends and such and now he wants me to pay for our dates? What a jerk!

I've had a look but can't find this program I used all the time. It allowed you to host and join games with ease. There was a huge list of games you can host as well, and like I say, it was pretty easy to use.

Starting today, Hamachi and all of Logmein softwares will cost a subscription of $100.00 USD per year. I'm sad that Hamachi won't be free to use anymore. I use Hamachi for nearly everything. Garry's Mod, Killing Floor, Minecraft, Terraria, Cry of Fear, Survivors, Slendytubbies etc.
