The series is pretty good, you should give it a go, but I can imagine how difficult it must be for someone who doesn't know the characters to figure this out.

Technically, wasn't Gendry the next in line once Robert died? Or was there some hidden rule that forbids a bastard to become king? Also the only other person who knew Gendry was Robert's son early on was Ned.
