After Joker I am of the opinion he cannot make "bad" movies
Also I really like historical movies

He isn't making the movie though, Ridley Scott is, and he doesn't always get historical movies right. It's probably gonna be a good movie, but I doubt it will be historically accurate.

No, my friend - both are making the movie. Ridley Scott is directing the movie, which is equally important as the main actor

Although it's possible, I find it very hard for them to mess up with Napoleon's story. Maybe with Joséphine...

I mean, they are shooting the top of the pyramids in the trailer for some reason 🤔

That's true - although they might be referencing this.

Would be weird though because they show the Sphinx like 2 scenes before that (in the trailer)

I would say a director is far more important for a movie than the actor playing the protagonist.

Looks good! I wonder if it will boost the sales of Napoleon-themed games. ;-)

My problem is a director and a famous actor don't make a movie. The script makes or breaks a movie. Scarpa hasn't impressed in any way, shape or form.

Looks interesting for sure, though the scene from the trailer with the troops on the ice looked fishy; armies did recon in 1800s too!
(unless I'm ignorant and something like that actually happened)
Will it be better than the mini-series https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253839/?ref_=fn_al_tt_5 though?
Seems to me that Napoleon's life is too...rich to fit into one movie only.

I'm not a big fan of Scott's movies (the only one I've actually enjoyed after Thelma & Louise was The Counselor), but Phoenix as Napoleon is definitely a must-see. Now I just need to finally start watching movies again.
