and i only see a 60 score reviews because the lack of multiplayer

Honestly i dont know why it needs multiplayer, its a game that is awesome because the dialogues and characters, how its supposed to be better with a multiplayer mode?
And they call them professionals :/

Why would you care about the number Metacritic decided to give to a game? That's like judging a movie based on Imdb score. You must keep Sturgeon's Law in mind.

well he already has the game, so I assume he's just upset that a game he likes isn't getting the kind of support (which equates to better sales). if the game doesn't do well enough that kind of squanders any possibility of future sequels (not saying Poker Night 2 is in that position)

I agree with you, and I also have to quote the one user review on the linked page

"Admittedly, not having multiplayer kills replayability past a certain point, but do you know what has multiplayer? Every single other poker game out there. If that's the jones you need, there are a thousand ways to go get it. Not every game has Poker Night 2's personality, and as Jules Winfield would tell you, personality goes a long way."

I know what you mean, I have seen some that are around this "its a decent game, 8/10 or so.. but it doesn't hold up to better games".. so they give it around a 40/50

40/50 is equal to 8/10. Both 80%.

no.. I don't mean 40 out of 50.. I mean 40 to 50 out of a hundred

ohh. So you meant 40-50 not 40/50. Sorry, my bad.

you have both ends, you have metacritic doing what they do, and then something like edge magazine getting payed off to give good ratings.

Yep, a $5 game should be shitted on because lack of multiplayer.

there's nothing particularly wrong with the game, and for $5 there is a good amount of fun to be had(at least when it doesn't feel like the game is cheating for the ai). I love the ejections for the different special rooms. also if you want a real poker simulator go play poker, this game is about the fun of the characters getting together.

How do you bluff a computer? How do you read a computer and predict it's next move? How do you play poker if it's not against another living person?

The answers to these questions are what gave it a 60.

hmm, having played both pokerstars and poker night 2, I haven't noticed much of a difference, at least compared to real poker. most idiots in MP poker games just all-in on the first hand (at least from my experience, I never play with real money so that's definitely a factor).

poker night 2 actually has that sort of thing built into the AI, and you can order drinks to make them more likely to show tells they are bluffing

I think I've won only a single match in my hour of playing so far. I'm really struggling to read them and I'm almost always wrong -_- I've played enough poker to consider myself reasonable at it, but Poker Night 2 makes me feel like a newbie!

I'll look into this drinks thing, it still doesn't really satisfy my urge to play against people instead of bots, but at least it's something. Thankies!

You don't play poker by reading people, you play it by running complex statistical analyses and betting accordingly, gosh darn it! It's the only way to play!

yeah I think it takes a lot of practice to read the bots, I personally haven't really done much of that at all, just play the odds and rely on that to get me through (which seems to be working okay...for the most part) maybe I'm just getting lucky though xD

People have really high demands for a $5 game.

The crazy amount of voice work, plus all the different themes and bonus in-game items is lots of bang-for-the-buck in my eyes.

Well, I also think it lacks multiplayer - because it does, but it's not most important thing.
But what annoys (and brings score down) thee most is that I think someone didn't really worked on making LOTS of dialogues, since I think I heard that Claptrap is stalking-chips creep, Brock needs Bowie knives, Ash has problems with Wendy, Sam wondering what Max would do and GlaDoS wondering how I'll fare without her stacking cards in my favor like a googol of times.
Did Poker 1 had more dialogues, or they were more skippable (or that option to turn them off actually helped with that) that I don't remember them being so much repeated there?

You're right, there isn't enough dialogue. But I still think there should have been a multiplayer first and foremost. In fact, I expected a multiplayer by default :S

im not having as much fun as i did with the first poker to be honest. the characters are piss-weak in this one, i have no idea why they went with them, especially fake-ash (what the hell is the point, seriously). the original line up was so much more fun, had better characterisations and dialog - in poker 2, brock is the only character thats any good (glados is great as well).. if they ever do a poker 3, i hope they really try and get some decent characters in it... hamill's joker for one, please :D :D :D

Poker Night 2 has 69 and Poker Night at the Inventory 71? Yea right. PN2 is much much better, it has more to play and Omaha and Texas Hold'em.

Considering what makes the game good is the personality and dialogues of the other players, the first one was better in that department.
