:< so ur saying i wasnt killing all those people for justice?

It's actually not. If I remember correctly, he kills people who wronged him or those in cahoots with malefactors, ergo he kills for justice.

But he also started the outbreak, killing tens of thousands of people, that wasn't for justice. And the game didn't stop you from just killing all the uninfected as well.

The former, I believe, is the result of his modified consciousness, after all he's no longer a human. Although thus far I haven't gotten past first few missions and collecting almost all orbs, so I can't comment on his intentions. The latter is not rewarding either and you can't complete the game by massacring the entire city.

Wait, you haven't finished the game? Then how can you determine that he kills for justice or not?
And the latter can be rewarding. It also can be fun. But yes, killing every uninfected isn't one of the ways to win, it's not even possible. They just spawn more.

By simply knowing the premise of the game. Alex was turned into a mutant, he felt he was wronged and went on a rampage to punish the perpetrators. From his point of view it is justice. If not self-defense since they are trying to kill him.
Like many other things in life, justice is subjective. Your justice differs from other people's justice.

Oh, I see. You meant he's killing for his justice. Okay, I thought you were using it in a broader manner.

There is no broader manner. If justice is absolute, there is no gray area. If killing people is bad, nobody should be allowed to do so. And since there are exceptions who's to say Alex Mercer isn't one of them?

Star Wars: The Old Republic was the biggest shock ever, that game made you think you were the good guy for half of the game until you realize (through the story) that YOU are actually a bad guy.

Now why would you do that? Things like that should not be disclosed.

Oh I remember this game xD
I think what just ruined it for me was how OP some special agents were. You couldn't really deal with them without losing a bunch of minions or having 1/3 of your base destroyed and training them all over again and re-building your base over and over and over was kinda frustrating

Mount and blade was fun for some time but then I noticed that a kingdom with only one castle and one town were managing to raise a 300+ army from night to day and how bad the auto-battle was. It's not like us, the players, have to train, pay and feed our soldiers right?
Also, if you are defending a castle with 80 soldiers against an army of 200 you will probably win.
Let the auto combat with 100 soldiers defend a castle against 120 invaders and you will probably lose :/

Really? What evil deeds do you do in this game? You build your dungeon, you decorate it, you take care of different creatures, you gather gold... and then some miscreants come into your lair to steal your goods and kill your minions!

Usually games where you play this kind of 'bad guy', you're still the good guy relative to some other villain ie. the grey hat hacker vs the black hat or evil corporation, or the criminal vs the corrupt cop, so I can't think of anything I've played right now where I really felt like the bad guy. I do like the GTAs and various hacking games though, and Breath of Fire 4 kinda fits the theme too.

I really enjoy playing the zombies in Left 4 Dead 2.

Yep you are right, my favorite single player game that you can play the bad guy/girl is Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. Altho this one can also be played as a multiplayer game :P

Nobody likes it, but somebody got to do it. There can be no good without evil :P

Total War: Rome (campaign).
I was nice to those Gauls. I even let them off the hook for sending spies into my turf. But then they attacked me. It crushed my rainbow loving soul, it broke my treehugging spirit...and that is when I figured that the only way to stop invasions and spies, was simply to conquer all their people.
Which meant I didn't stop at the nearest settlements and decided it was in everyone's best interest for me to enslave entire countries and make the meaning of "Gaul" obsolete.
My gratitude goes to the Gauls for transforming me from a gentle, peace loving softie, to a enslaver of foreigners, someone who punished every race who strayed into "my space" (even if that was not my space..yet) and who married off young teenage girls to middle age men to breed a strong, Roman bloodline.
