you know....instead of blowing 30k+ on a car you can get a 10k motorcycle and spend 4k on a custom fitted suit of armor made from good steel with floating rivets and jousting braces(not all of them, you'll want your left arm mobile for instance but the stuff for neck and shoulders can't hurt), that should make up some of the safety difference. Bonus points for being able to take the durability with you after you exit the vehicle.
