Being the bigger man is your only option, because like you said you didn't pay enough attention after all. Ignorance is no excuse.
I know this is not what you wanna hear, but it's how it is.
If you're mad at me, don't worry, not entering the giveaway :D

XD I know it's my fault, I'm not annoyed at the staff member for dealing the suspension over that, I deserved it. My issue is how he outright ignored my reply on the ticket when I explained what happened to him, if he was doing is job (volunteer it may be, but a duty he agreed to nonetheless), he would have responded in at least close to the 2 days time it took him to make the first reply. The fact he completely blew me off without giving me even a "sorry, what happened happened, and the suspension stands" really irks me, as I used to moderate quite afew forums and gave it my all! He was very unprofessional by reasonable standards, and you cannot honestly believe that in the 2 weeks that it had been since I replied to him with my explanation of what happened, he never saw it. That is absurd as he clearly saw it within 2 days of the initial filing of the issue.
And I'm not mad at you XP I have no reason to be.

I think it's not about him not replying, but you feeling like you weren't able to properly explain yourself. Maybe you feel like he left with the impression that you did it on purpose and that's what bothers you. It's perfectly okay tho. If I could justify myself to all the people I hurt in my life, I would feel much better myself and maybe wouldn't be as bitter as I am, but it still doesn't change anything about the damage done.
I have tickets unreplied to for over 4 weeks, but these are user reports which take really long, everyone knows that. Other tickets tho... Sometimes I get a reply in 1 hour and then I don't get a reply for daaaays and even weeks like you. In the time inbetween support's and your reply hundreds of new tickets got in, so it takes a huge delay.
But check your ticket again. It often says "Awaiting reply" or "Resolved" or something. This way you know if he just didn't reply because of other tickets or if he just didn't do it. I bet there are a lot of people trying to explain their selves, maybe he just doesn't reply to that to avoid a lenghty discussion. In the time he would discuss it with you he could answer a dozen other tickets, maybe think about that. Makes him a better moderator as you think, because he works time efficient.

Na, it's about the lack of a reply XP if he said "I am sorry, take this as a lesson to pay closer attention in the future, suspension stands.", I would have been perfectly fine with the outcome and wouldn't be annoyed~
I don't agree with "avoiding lengthy conversation by not replying." If I am going to remain suspended, tell me outright so I know you aren't just being an arsehole by ignoring me cause you don't care. Once he replies giving his verdict after the user explains the situation, the decision is the decision, though I may no necessarily agree with it, I will respect it and live it out, and he can lock the ticket.
Just my views~ And yes, while it's entirely possible he never saw the ticket reply, it imagine (or rather hope for the sake of organization and priority of ticket types) he did see it. If there are numerous suspended users, then there should be moderators who's primary job is to respond to their tickets, as fully explaining why the suspension was dealt is important (if he didn't further explain why I was suspended, I would have gone on not having seen that it was those minor human errors of not paying closer attention) so they fully understand what happened. But if there are few suspended users submitting tickets, then those tickets should still take a higher priority than general support, and should be easily replied to due to the lower numbers.
All the forums I've moderated on have had suspension lift tickets prioritized above general support, so it might just be my view molded by that, but to me it's common sense. And SG totally needs more staff if they are still taking 4 weeks to reply to tickets, even stupid ones that they can give one reply to and close.

be charitable, be the bigger man and give to those who don't have!
That's a great mindset to have. You made a couple mistakes and did your time, welcome back :)

If you want to be the bigger man, then stop all your bitching and moaning. Support members on this site are VOLUNTEERS who give up countless hours making sure this site isn't infested with rule breakers. They surely hear the same excuses each week, how are they supposed to believe you over everyone else when, at the end of the day, you can't prove that you didn't receive the gift?

I'm not complaining about being suspended, I perfectly understand why I was and accept that as it was my fault. Ignorance, where understandable, is not a forgive all reason.I know how hard it is to volunteer hundreds, even thousands of hours to moderate forums, I did it before with a passion for several years. My issue was the fact a suspension inquiry ticket was either ignored or not gotten to over a 2 week period, especially after a reasonably speedy initial reply for a site this size. If I was ignored, I'm obviously going to call it out as being unprofessional, I don't care if its volunteer, it should never stop you from being professional in how you handle your duties, especially as he could have easily just said "I am sorry, but irregardless your suspension stands as you're still at fault. Try to pay closer attention in the future." that's what I was expecting to hear after years of doin this work myself. If they're just that understaffed that they can't respond to priority tickets (and I think that some form of confirmation that report tickets are received and being investigated should be a thing, as those are high priority along side site breaking bugs and suspension inquiry tickets) then they need to actively recruit new volunteers!

Unsuspend requests are accessible by moderator and above only. Previously, only 3 people could deal with the request (one of whom is on vacation), which is probably why you didn't get a response. There were two more promotions recently, so replies should be quicker in the future.

I should hope only moderators and above are the only ones with access to those tickets xD I'm glad to see the sites getting more moderators, as it is truly in need .

I can't view your ticket as I am not a moderator but possibly the one who was dealing with your ticket was the one who went on vacation

Also for future reference if you win multiple giveaways for the same game do not mark both as received. If anything, mark the second as not received to give the giveaway maker an incentive to reroll

Ya XP I learned that lesson. Gotta pay more attention when marking things as received to make sure they aren't ones I accidentally won already

Well, I just finished my 3 week suspension from Steam Gifts. Apparently I didn't read the titles close enough on 2 games, redeeming the incorrect products (one wasn't the Gold version, and the other was a prequel sharing the first half of the game title name), and one game I won twice (I told the dude I already won the game and I entered by mistake, but I guess he never re-rolled and I just marked as received after afew days, forgetting about it and trying to redeem the code, seeing Steam said I already owned it, and marking the game as received, figuring I forgot). I tried telling this to the moderator incharge of my case (I won't name names, as I am bigger than that), but he either didn't believe me or just didn't care, as he didn't even bother to reply to my ticket for the remaining 2 weeks after I replied to his first reply. I am really annoyed at him but realize that it wouldn't matter if I tried reporting him as a bad staff member. I did, infact, not redeem the correct games overall, and marked a double won game as received, though the 2 games we're a result of me only reading half the titles, and the other was really the fault of the giveaway maker not rerolling and me forgetting it was a double won game, I did break the rules despite the circumstances.
Well, I served my time and I am still annoyed, so I will go with what everyone tells me will help, and be charitable, be the bigger man and give to those who don't have! They say it will make me happier, so why not~! I'm back Y'all!
And I have one more giveaway on the way, just gotta finish my puzzle for it~
