You'll lose a lot of money trading in consoles as they need to buy it for a low price to make a profit, and if they refurbish consoles they need to cover the cost of that.
Selling on eBay is much better.

Fun fact. If you take the HD out and sell it as a 4gb xbox and a seperate HD you get more money.

We have something similar in ProGames. 1 little boy sold his PS Vita for 30€ (The battery of Vita was broken). I, myself wouldn't do it. As far as I saw, it was in perfect condition from outside.

You can occasionally get decent value if you bring in the right hardware/software on the right day, and take advantage of a rare good trade in deal... you're a dope if you just do it to do it though with no plan.

I'd just toss it on Craigslist or something similar. I threw my PS3 on there not too long before the PS4 came out and got $150 for it, and that's damn near what I paid for it.

I asked about trading in a system once, and they wanted to know what came with it. "Console and cables, that's all I have." "Oh. Well, we'd have to sell you a controller in order to be able to take it..." At that point I was seriously confused.
