here's my thoughts on your games with less than an hour playtime:
if i had rochard i would play that...
magicka is very entertaining, and much more so if you can co-op it with 3 friends
half-life 2 episodes are some of my favorites, but maybe you played them before steam tracked playtime?
atom zombie smasher surprised me how much i enjoyed shooting purple dots before they turned the other dots purple. it has some randomness built in so you can keep going back for another game.
i recently finished the single player campaign of steel storm and it was pretty satisfying for a top-down shooter
hammerfight was frustratingly difficult, which may have been due to my mouse settings. i may try it again, but it also seems pretty buggy.
i've only played a little frozen synapse but it looks like an enjoyable strategy game sort of similar to parts of jagged alliance, which i really enjoyed back in the days of shareware
i played the first few levels of spacechem and while it was pretty easy that far, i really enjoyed it
alien swarm i played a little at a lan party -- seemed cool if you can get a few friends to play it with you
and yet it moves has me stuck on the last bonus level. other than that the game had a low but satisfying level of challenge, and the rotating the world thing is pretty cool to experience.

Complete GTA SA, it's a must.

Darwinia is pretty good, metro 2033, and DoD 1.

Make yourself Half-life marathon :)

GTA San Andreas is always worth to replay it!!
