The more it is studied, the more scientist learn how much space weather effects our planet.

While the effects may be weak for the most part, it is similar to the effects of the suns and moons gravity, and adds up to incredible pressure put upon our globe and ecosystem.

Here is where i regularly check in to see what to expect for the week SpaceWeather.com

Last week it was talk about the lunar eclipse, and this week it is talk about another solar eruption passing our way in the next few days.
Luckily space is massive, and our earth has so far dodged any serious effects in recent times. But it wasnt too long ago that this happened...

The Carrington Event was the most intense geomagnetic storm in recorded history, peaking from 1 to 2 September 1859 during solar cycle 10. It created strong auroral displays that were reported globally[1] and caused sparking and even fires in multiple telegraph stations. The geomagnetic storm was most likely the result of a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun colliding with Earth's magnetosphere.

If a similar event was to take place today, the catastrophe would be impossible to measure, as our world runs off of fairly sensitive electrical systems. Yet could happen at any time!

....

Space weather theories

Beyond the known scientific are the theoretical and questioning minds. Some of which have been linking space weather to events such as terrestrial earthquakes. While not yet having enough data to be proven, it is a theory that has sparked much interest and further investigation.

...

While other human events come and go, Space and the Sun are always there threatening to roast us, or drop a world ending rock on our heads.

So be aware, be safe, and try to keep a few months of food on hand, just in case we get roasted by the BIG ONE!

Haha, I like this way of looking at things, per se. ( 「'Θ')🔭🌌

But NOAA space Weather should be listed first.

Homepage | NOAA / NWS Space Weather Prediction Center
https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/
ESA - Space Weather Office
https://www.esa.int/Space_Safety/Space_Weather_Office

[Evil crap.]
For example, but try making "watery mud dumplings" and putting them in the microwave.
(Not recommended. Might be unusable.)
The earth is similar. ( *'Θ')σ🌏
If we are unlucky on a cosmic scale, a situation like heating the earth in a microwave oven may occur.
However, the likelihood of this happening is extremely small.
(Omit Evil story.)
Realistically, we can only watch the alerts at NOAA and SPACEWeather and hope that we do not experience satellite or communication failures or generator or transmission line anomalies.
On the contrary, there are only a limited number of threats that could occur frequently during our lifetime on Earth.
It has long been recommended that we stockpile three days to a week's worth of food in preparation for earthquakes and disasters.
Some people should keep a radio with the batteries removed in their evacuation bags. Such a thing may not break.
(」・Θ・)」 🗼📡))))📻🛰
In a time when large swaths of the world are plagued by natural and man-made disasters, such preparedness is a good thing.

Excellent links, and great points!\

Although there isnt much we can do, it is comforting to know we should at least have a couple days warning before we get cooked, or flattened.

In such case wouldn't it be better not to know? Ignorance is bliss and all that.

Then you might be in the minority I guess.

Just look at what happened in the US during the summer of "love" and the "protests" that happened a lot of damage was done. If people know the end is coming it will only be worse.
Most people think about them self first, so just imagine what people will do in the off chance there is a ,microscopic chance they will survive the incoming event.

Yeah, i get the animal response to act wild when realizing its caught in a trap.

But i find instead of panicking when faced with dramatic events, i do the opposite and get cold, precise, and clinical as a self defense mechanism.

I dont see myself as one of those people trying to sneak a spot on the rickets escaping the destruction of the earth, or giving up on all of my humanity by doing whatever animalistic urges rise to the top.

I'd mainly become morose and nihilistic. But just because i thought nothing mattered, isnt the same as thinking i'll just do any crazy thing i can think of.

What happened in the "summer of love"

"Protests" (thats how media called it). In several cities. Which should have been called riots. Cars and buildings where looted and set on fire.
The most funny thing was that on some news stations they where on site and where saying that everything was peaceful while you could see stuff burning in the background.

For example: https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2020/08/720/405/CNN-Headline-Fiery-2.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

No problem... I figured it'd be healthy to start peppering in some useful awareness threads, instead of just horrifying ones.

I think my next thread is gonna be about the gut biome the compost heap that is the human digestion system, and how humans have tiny roots called phylae similar to plants that our bodies use to absorb nutrients. But working on collecting some links and images first.

Good to get reminders about the macrocosm and microcosm that effects the scale of the world that we perceive. Even if those effects are often difficult to perceive.

Thx for the love dude... PLZ give this site a chance, and dont let the recent drama drive you away.

I'll be right there with you chastising the mods for incorrect behavior and censorship, if these new rules get out of hand.

Thank you :) This is a useful thread which can actually bring awareness to something most don't know about.

Especially along the lines of global climate change, as the sun has a huge effect on our weather patterns.

While it is good to note all impacts to our climate, including human effects, i believe it is most important to start by focusing on those things with the largest effect. Such as the sun, or space in general, which while a vacuum, doesnt mean it is a simple void of nothingness. Pressures and particulates do vary constantly.

I tend to think more about it this time of year, as the sunrise/set times squash the daylight hours, and i'm ever more aware of the difficulty to get enough healthy hours of sun exposure each day.
