If you have played any other Nippon Ichi games like Disgaea, you might have an idea. I like this one because it has multiple stories. In New Game Plus, you can even become an evil guy out to destroy everything.

Indeed. Though I'm not much of a fan of Disgaea, and can't stand La Pucelle Tactics, I love their other three PS2 games.

Baldur's Gate 2, Fallout 2, Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven, Final Fantasy VI. Yeah, let's go back to the classics.

Fallout series, Mass effect series, Alpha protocol, Arcanum, Vampire: bloodlines, TES series, Knights of the old republic 1+2, System shocks and Deus Exs and so on. I love a good rpg :). And ofcourse Princess maker 2!

It's a toss up for me honestly, between the Suikoden, Breath of Fire, and Phantasy Star series. Honorable mention to Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6 though. And of course Mario RPG. Honestly, I could list dozens of games I love...I can't pick just one.

I dunno. This is a really hard question as there are tons of RPGs out there that I consider to be my "favorite" and with making a list, I'm certain I'll leave out some that I really, really like. But I'll try.
Shadow Hearts 1/2: Covenant, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Final Fantasy VI/V/XII/XIII-2, Mass Effect 2, Tales of series, Shadowrun (SNES), Star Ocean series (Minus 3), Xenogears/Xenosaga series, Rogue Galaxy, Suikoden series (I suppose II would be my favorite of them all), Lost Odyssey, Breath of Fire 2 & 4, Illusion of Gaia, Oblivion (Shivering Isles in particular), Grandia III.
Those all are at the top of my head at the moment.
