this game that i didn't vote for won, so i'm blaming bots because i cannot fathom humanity can be that stupid (disregarding that braid is the most popular game out of the three, etc.)
see also: i didn't get this steam key drop so i'm blaming bots, every ninja thread ever.
won't anyone think of the bots? :(

Or, maybe
People don't care what game is next, they just go for the highest discount. Cheapest = best mentality.

It takes a mere 2 minutes of your time; game one, normally 50% off, but will drop +30%; game 2 normally 33% off, but will drop +15%; game 3 normally 80% off, but will drop +10%. If you truly don't care about the choice of games, obviously pick the 1st one. It literally takes the research of simply going to the store pages and nothing more. You're just lazy if just that can't be asked of you...

If I'm not interested in any of the games, then I look to see which one is on more friend's wish lists and vote for that one. I wish more people would take at least a few seconds of thought before voting instead of voting for the biggest discount. One yesterday won because it was the biggest discount (80%) but it was already discounted 75%, and that extra 5% only made it 40 cents cheaper. The other two were currently at 50% and would have gone to 75% giving bigger discount.

It won because the price was so low. Also it's pretty popular.

Why do you say it's rigged? I voted for Sacrifice. I think a lot of people vote for higher discount percentage.

+1. Consensus in group chats seems to be that higher discounts are winning almost every vote.

There are many factors going into a vote. High percentage discount. Users own the game already. It's been discounted at that price before many times. It's been in bundles before. You actually LIKE that game. Picking a game that's different than ones that have had several discounts already. A game that has a low discount, but has never been discounted before (like FFVIII up on flash sale right now). ON and on and on.
So, I don't really get your concern. It looks pretty normal to me so far. I really doubt that Steam is setting their own votes, mainly due to the fact that there is no point in doing so. Why would they do that? They have a ton of daily and flash sales, but you think they're short on games for the Vote sale? Sounds silly to me.

I don't get it either. Sacrifice was at 75% and the discount for being community choice was pretty much 50 cents. Sang-Froid would have had a savings of around $3.50 and Raven for around $6.50. I voted for Raven myself, but would have been satisfied to see Sang-Froid as well.
Raven actually was the best deal of the lot savings wise, yeah not a good looking sale, but the game hasn't been on sale before now other than when it came out for a whole 10%, and right now it's at 34%, so that was a pretty nice sale there. Sang-Froid is only at 50%, so again, a nice sale. Sacrifice really wasn't a good deal.

Finally, some who actually thinks around here? All the others are just posting non-productive comments.
Also everyone should have Braid already, it's been bundled, it's been hundreds of times on sales due to how old it is, why not Doorways? Didn't look that great, but at least it's a newer game on a big discount price ffs people. Oldie and goldie doesn't apply all the time here if 90% or more people have that game, so don't throw in that excuse

I think they said that because I actually listed the actual numbers about why it makes little sense rather than just whining about how the only one I had no interest in won out.

It's just the whole oh, it's got the highest percentage, never mind which game doesn't go on sale much or which one actually has the most savings to it by actual dollars, not percentage. Yeah, Raven would have cost the most of the three, but that sale was the biggest savings and the most percentage off its current sale.

And honestly, I probably would have bought it if it had won. Both Raven and Sang-Froid are on my wishlist. While Sacrifice looks interesting, I suck at RTS games and avoid them because of that.
And I bet Hacker Evolution is going to win out this one, even though it winning the vote would be a savings of a mere $1 wheras Testament of Sherlock Holmes would be a savings of $5 and Shelter $1.50. But since I either own or don't care about those three, just voted for best savings.

Even $1 is at least better than the 30 cents discount Sword of the Stars: The Pit and Super Hexagon each got for winning community choice

I knoooow.
I was so not happy when Super Hexagon won the community choice. Long Live the Queen could have been half off. I could have gotten it half off. It's never been more than 10-freaking-percent off. I would have bought it. And how many times has Super Hexagon been on sale or in a bundle?!

Yeah, wasn't pleased about that one either even though I got Long Live the Queen when it was 10% off because I like the dev's games. I did vote for it because I wasn't interested in any others and would like to see others enjoy that game. Hopefully Long Live the Queen shows up in a flash sale for you.

I was so pissy that Super Hexagon won that, too. Long Live The Queen is just about the only must-have game for me this Winter Sale.

I vote without looking, just to get the snow globes. Come on, there are crappy games with 99% chance in that community choice box

I really don't understand how is it obvious... just because you like a specific game doesn't mean that everybody else does and/or knows it and wants to vote for it... most people just vote randomly to get the cards and sell them, ever thought of that ? :P

Jews did Steam Community votes, LISTEN TO WHAT I'M SAYIN
Comment has been collapsed.
People vote in mysterious ways. I'm just voting randomly unless there's a game that I want.
But looks like this year, people are voting for the more hyped titles.

Sacrifice is a great game, which has never been under 75%, maybe that's why.
Already bought it a while ago and wanted Sang-Froid too though.

Sacrifice (80% sale) winning with a 47% over sang froid (75% sale) 23%? Come on now.. really?! I won't count the raven cause the sale is just 60%, and this is not the first time it happens. Earlier Braid (80% sale) won with a 44% over Doorways Chapter 1&2 (75% sale) with a 33%, and before that another even more outrageous. We all know these are controlled by Steam but making it so obvious?
EDIT: so the conclusion is the majority of the voters are just mindless idiots who don't even care about the games that go in the voting and click randomly just to get some cards. DERP!
