Is your browser set to clear cookies every time you close it? Because the Steam API cookie (so you don't have to keep validating with SteamGuard) will get erased if you clear your cookies, and browsers often can be set to expire or clear cookies on a regular basis.

good idea - it shouldn't be set to delete, I don't usually block or delete them other than the very rare occasions when I think to "clean house" a little, but I'll double-check and see if my settings got changed to some default or something. I remember doing something that I ended up clearing history and re-installed some stuff so maybe it's off

I haven't checked yet to confirm - it may be just after rebooting, but it seems like if I don't visit SteamGifts almost constantly, I have to log in again, now with the added bonus that EVERY TIME I LOG IN I have to do the Steam code sent to email to log in from a different computer than I've been using even though it's the same one
I'm way too lazy for that crap... meanwhile, Steam seems to remember me just fine, re-boot or no
y'all trying to tell me something..? ☺
