It used to be easy to make money with steam game trading. Now, it's really hard that it even made me to stop trading. :'(
Now, the only way to make some money is by trading steam keys (preferrably by selling them on G2A, Kinguin, etc.) or by trading cards (but you need to have a loooooooooooooooooot of accounts in order to actually get profit by them).

You can also quickbuy and then resell skins and hats, but it's kinda risky.

get some games that drop cards, preferably during sales... play games/farm cards by being idle... profit.
or get the most games you can get on massive giveaways and then sell the cards of the ones that have cards.
or yet, selling event cards.
or yet, playing games that give drops, like CSGO, TF2, Don't Starve Together, etc and put all your marketable items in the market...
linking your acc to a Twitch acc and watching the CSGO/Dota league games for the eventual drops of boxes/in game items they make for people watching the league games... (to get the ones on the CSGO league you need to have CSGO)
basically: spending some money or time to get games, play, sell marketable stuff...
could also try some buy low, sell high on market, but that might be more time consuming, and you need to take in account Steam tax cut.

Dota doesn't drop but you have to have the ticket. And it's rare, it's not like always nor everyone
That's what friends have told me, I don't have money to buy the ticket so.. I dunno

Advanced techniques for more moneymaking:

So how do we applied as steam developer? how to earn money with it? is it worth?
Comment has been collapsed.
buy cheap bundles, idle games, sell all their cards.
create badges of easy to get card games, level up steam profile for booster packs.
i got lucky getting a rare background image which got sold for 3usd while only buying two cards for 20cents to make a badge.
Repeat the process and may the luck be with you!

a) pick up every free game you can find, idle for cards, and sell them
b) every so often, a bundle could be so cheap you can make a profit by buying it and idling for cards used to be more common, now it's rare but it still happens
c) play games with item drops and sell the items. PayDay 2 drops a safe once a week, SCGO drops maybe 2 cases per week, etc.

and now PUBG...I nearly made the money i paid for it back the day they introduced cases xD...had some leftover points though
but the prices won't stay that high for long

+1. George, you'll be wasting so much time for like 60 dollars every 1000 cards. Don't know about wages on Czech Republic, but you'll earn far more than this.
If you'll do any of the methods posted above, make sure it's as a bonus.
If you're less than 18, then study and prepare for getting a nice job.

Basically for me there are two options:

The only way that pays properly is to invest time in the old method 'buy low, sell high'. Identify games or other high-value Steam items (in-game items) with high demand, buy extra stock (during bundles or other sales) then resell when the prices go up. Obviously, this requires that you spend a lot of time both carrying out the trades, learning market prices, failing and taking losses in-between etc.
Dealing with idling, cards etc. is more of a hobby than anything else. The few cents you get that way will hardly pay up the time you spent. So don't even think about that if you're trying to make proper money.

Find games you might ctually enjoy that have a crate/item system. For example: CS-GO, Killing Floor 2, Team Fortress 2 (I think this one needs that Valve Orange Pack versión of TF2 for selling stuff, not sure).
CS GO drops on "casual" matches are mostly given to the top 3 players I think. Once got a drop that was worth $3 dollars but couldnt sell at the time because of their mobile app restriction which was very new at the time so the crate was worth **** when I was able to sell It LOL!
You certainly need to invest before. CS-GO will pay for Itself with time (get It on a good sale).
Opinions above are pretty good. I'm guessing you're a minor. Idling is not the best way to go, only If you have a súper low power consumption system and yet... on the other hand Steam event cards will let you buy a free cool game at least.

Oh well...you're level 37 on Steam, you have +700 games and have CS-GO, you also trade. DUDE! the next level for you to make profits on Steam is to SCAM people (Kappa).
Note to myself: check profile first before answering noobish questions....

After the changes with steam gifting, I wouldn't recommend anybody trying to earn money as a steam trader from scratch. If you have a decent GPU, try some cryptocurency farming, which requires basically no interaction at all once it is set up.

The thing is, OP knows how to make steam wallet money, he has crate/item drop games, trades, etc. We were trolled the whole time.

Only because the topic is not relevant for the OP, there are certainly other users that are trying to get some information here.

Well, you´re right about that but he clearly made It sound like he wanted to know that cause he was new on Steam. I just find It odd. Maybe Its just the language barrier Idk...

Moneymaking on steam? Why you should do that? You cannot transfer it to your bank account. So its not really money making because you need to give it back to Valve.

Also you cannot make money without spending money.
