Just a little update bump. I... er... fell off the wagon a bit last week and wound up winning 4 games (I won 5 but read on for why it "doesn't count") And I had a bit of a hiccup in my plans to play Stranded In Time.
I accidentally forgot to mark my spare key for it as used so I wound up making another giveaway for it. Since I hadn't added it to my library yet I decided the responsible thing to do was to give the other key which I had intended for myself (and since I didn't want to lose the GA slot for cancelling a GA) The same thing happened with Melissa K. I really do want to play that game so I tried to win it back and, as you can see, I succeeded. Still have not succeeded in winning back Stranded in Time though and little by little I may come to the decision to just leave it that way. We'll see...
I'll update my chart soon with my new theme for the week. I will be traveling tomorrow but once I'm settled in I'm going to play ALL the games I've won recently and some others that I have been wanting to get to.

Yeah, I haven't won too many but I did trade a bunch of unwanted keys for other games so those definitely count as part of my SG backlog. Plus I had quite a backlog already before I joined. I updated my chart for this week's theme :P

I'm back on track as well. Updated my table with the number of exception entries - quite a lot (414) - and 8 of those ended up adding a +1 to my backlog. :P

Is this a support group for Steamgifts wins in particular, or a backlog group for a little of everything? I was actually thinking of creating a group for the former, but for the latter, I'm already in a nice group for it: Completing the Backlog, and I know there are more of them. A group especially for Steamgifts wins would be extra nice since it would stand out from the other backlog groups :)

The main goal is SG wins, which is why we limit ourselves from entering new giveaways until we finish the current batch, but we can of course work on other games. Since my plan is to do this in stages, the last stages will be for all the games in my library, but the first stages will be focused entirely on SG wins.

right now it's a general backlog group, but since it's only the four of us from this thread, there's not much to see yet ^^ AFAIK we've all prioritized SG wins, but I'm also playing other games at the same time, so I'd like to keep track of them as well. I only browsed a little bit through Completing the Backlog, it's a bit too large for me - especially since I wanted to make a group specifically for this thread (from what I understand, once the SG backlog is wiped out, we'd move on to our other games anyway).
Somewhat shorter: It's a general backlog group currently restricted to SG users and tied to this thread. You can set your own backlog attack plan, so if you want to focus on SG wins first, do that - it's what we're doing for now. There probably won't be (m)any group GAs, since that would defeat the purpose.

I honestly didn't put too much thought into it, like I said, I just wanted something smaller than CTB (and with less updates/activites etc.), for people to just work on their backlogs casually (I know I'd like themes, but I also know I sometimes don't have time to play for several weeks). Also, I kind of wanted a place where we could discuss things we could probably just discuss here, but without dragging an old thread up all the time for more or less private conversations. Bumps with GAs are probably much more interesting for the community :P

Lately I've been working on batches simultaneously. When there is only one or two games missing from the current batch I already start working on the next one. I'm also thinking of already listing all the batches on the OP so I can have an idea of what I have to face. :P Maybe it's not that many games with achievements and I can reduce all the batches into fewer batches containing only queued games.

Yes, I did that too for a while, I have two games from the new batch nearly finished. But I don't think I'd finish those games from the last batch anytime soon ... and I didn't want to "blur the lines" too much -- if I always work on more than one batch at a time, what good are the batches anyway?
... I just have to be careful that I don't end up with a "leftovers batch" of all those boring/stupid games :/

Yeah you're right. As soon as I finish batch 5 I will go back to one batch at a time. I was only doing them simultaneously because I had to download some games that were over 10 GB and that took me a while, so I wanted to play something smaller in the meantime.

I started on the next batch already as well, but just because I'm only very slowly progressing in the last one of the current batch (Schein) - the graphics/response always start slowing down after about one level, so it'll be a few days (I don't feel like restarting my computer after every level, so I just play something else where that doesn't happen ^^) Also, I'm not very good at it, so I take my sweet time per level, better players would probably be done by now ^^

Oh yeah, I forgot that Schein does that. I used to close it and reopen and everything was okay again, but it didn't happen that often to me (to the point that it would interfere in my playthrough) and most of the times it would even fix itself after playing for a while. I don't know why, but I just loved that game so much. Maybe because it was the first SG win that I really played. :P

Backlog is a word I first heard on SteamGifts, I didn't have one before joining, heck I had less than a hundred games. I bought more games in 2015 than days in a year (dem pesky bundles). Looking at my library overwhelms me and the hoarding has to stop.

No problem, you can adjust your plan any way you prefer. Mine actually doesn't require 100% achievements, but I just love getting them. :P

ooh interesting.... although i wouldnt be able to just start them and complete the story only i'd have to try to get 100% achievements or as close as possible :P (probably this is the reason my backlog is getting on the large side)
