ai is always meh compared to human.
its semi decent.
you can kinda order it to do general attacks\defend at such n such waypoint\areas that you mark
but i do remember taking several tries to beat the very last mission with ai. since it aint as smart to do this n that.

i have a cd version, but i have been able to play with a friend that has the steam version. we used https://cnc-online.net/en/ or some such to play together though.

I totally suck at RTS but I haven't played a lot of them and I want to get better at it.
I am in Europe though so I think our playtime will be different (although I work nights sometimes so my playtime varies)
