Nah, they are doing fine with selling porn now. Oh and the occasional HOG bundle.

Unfortunately (for where Steam goes), most likely they do. I've recently spoke with one of my friends, previously developing quite ambitious and good puzzle games - he financially didn't make it and had to switch to doing the exact cheap porn, that I automatically put into ignore on SG, and his income has significantly raised, making it a financially viable alternative, as I understand.

I used buy quite a few bundles from Indiegala. Bought one in July 2020 but the last one I bought before that was November 2018. Have tempted by a few but the price is always a little bit too high for the games in them. Mostly they are rubbish shovelware.

Last time I bought a bundle there was... lemme check... 2 years ago. But I get stuff from regular store sales every once in a while (usually when I have enough Gala Credits).
Times when you bought 2-3 bundles a week
Once upon a time... when publishers were more willing to bundle their games, and there wasn't as much shovelware.
135 "games" released this year, and it's barely been a week... and people thought Steam Direct would be better than Greenlight, LMAO.
Nowadays, Indie Gala bundles are no more than collector/farmer bait, because, let's face it, THEY are their intended audience, and they know how to cater to them (happy hour/group buys).
It's a miracle if I see one bundle PER SEASON with games I'd actually want anywhere near my library (and I'm not that picky), and they're usually 1) overpriced, 2) diluted with shovelware, and/or 3) full of rebundles.
I simply stopped considering Indie Gala a bundle site, it's easier this way. Fanatical is the number 1 bundle site as of recent (out of 2 -the other being Humble-, which isn't much to write home about), if you look past all that mystery crap spam.
The only thing I'm sure about, is that between the store, shovelware bundles that sell more than they deserve to, and their published games, Indie Gala is not going anywhere for the time being.

i actually bought one in November which contained a VN that had been on my wishlist for a while. but i have seen an overall decline in quality over the last few years, though admittedly the bundles were never that great.

So, when was the last time (y)ou bought a bundle there? (Q) Me in March 2020 and only (5) (of course all through groupbuys) in the whole year.
Currently, what they present is a bundle of 6 craps not worth even $ 1. Where are those good indie games time in indie gala? Times when you bought 2-3 bundles a week. Today there is not even one interesting game for the whole package (and I still have hundreds several years old indie games on my steam wish list). Even Artifex stopped offering their gam(e)s in these bundles and switched to Fanatical.
So, I cleaned up and today I'm starting gibs with all the games left from the indie gala before it's too late and it will suddenly turn out that in a week or month indie gala will disappear.
First train (part 1 - gibs limit) Artifex HOG. (U).
