100k? Too little. Double it and we can talk. Even then I'd only sell one year tops.

i'd sell 10 years if it was for a really good price... so that i never have to work and can use that time instead... instant profit??

Another post saying the same thing, please read back for my reply.

Surely in order to answer this properly you would also need to know what age you were supposed to die.
What would be the point in selling a year of your life if you were going to die in a car crash at 20 anyway?

If that matters to you then make sure you stay out of the road.

It matters for this specific question, not in general.
For example, if I knew I was going to get to the point where my body was virtually useless but my mind was still fine then I would gladly sell a few years of my life and die a little earlier.

I think that 80 years in misery is not any better than 40 years of true life, filled with events, feelings and action.

Well, let's say you got kids and a family and you want to spend as much time with them and support them throughout their lifes, would you still do it?

Time is precious, and we give it away sometimes too freely. Even though in our jobs we are paid for it. But we do what we do to make money to survive. It's never enough though. We are rewarded with fake coins for surveys filled out, we are rewarded with samples for filling out coupons, we redeem our points for things we want and rarely need, all because of time we choose to give and felt we were being "rewarded" with something in return. But truly, in reality, You can't and shouldn't put a price on your own time. If we had our own time to ourselves to do what we like then wouldn't we choose to save time rather than sell it to anyone for any price? We would save it and spend our own time doing what we felt our time deserved to be spent on. The question becomes not would you be interested in selling time. But what are you interested in spending it on?

There we go, another person posting without reading all the other same previous posts.

How is asking for opinions retarded and answering this topic could be hard to answer if you value your life. Just because you don't value yours, it doesn't mean others don't.

I did actually, but again, that's not selling time. That's doing a 'job' for someone for money.

I would say that's selling both time and effort, in a lot of cases damaging your body in the process, in addition to the wear and tear on your car if you drive to get there.
If people could just sit on their ass and make 100k a year for their time, I think it would cause a miniature apocalypse because who would want to make/prepare food instead of doing nothing for money.

Watch the In Time trailer, which was posted on the thread and you will understand what I mean.

Sorry but Doing a job for anyone other than yourself IS selling your Time.

If I had some sort of condition or disease that would have otherwise made me consider popping over to Dignitas in Switzerland for a bit of euthanasia, yes.
Outside of that. no.

I am looking forward to watching that movie after watching the trailer the guy posted.

I'd actually like to buy some :P Though probably not at that price, that's about $275 per day
EDIT: After thinking about it a bit, and reading through some of the replies (please don't hit me if someone already said this, I'm sorry for not reading every single post :) ), I'd say that if this was implemented right now, I'd instantly sell 50 years (being 17 now, I assume/hope I'll still be alive in 50 years), which would net me 5 million, then, as the "time-market" was filled with people selling their time, prices would decrease, and once they had suitably decreased, I'd buy back as much time as I could with 3 million of my money, which would amount to more than 50 years since the price had decreased. Like that I'd have an extra long life, AND 2 mil in the bank; best of both worlds! :D
Then again, the value of money would probably decrease aswell, so maybe my idea wouldn't work...

well if you tie money directly to time it' be backed by something and governments couldn't just print more after selling all the gold like now. so inflation would be less, but we'd end up with shady as hell litch kings, they do so many backroom embezzling insider information deal stuff as it is with their advanced ages and "you can't take it with you"...imagine what they'd do if they got to live until it was all spent?

Well, I have been hearing a lot of this quote: "Time is money."; so I seeing if you guys would actually want to sell your time. Let's hear the responses. Try being detailed as much as possible.
You can or can not consider this ratio in your post: 100k dollars for a year of time.
