2 or 3 copies I could see, 5 copies maybe, but 50 copies..? -_-

Maybe I'm just a little cynical, but this just screams "I can boost my CV on SG with free games! Yay for me".

The kid has the standard $30.00 flat CV on SG and only 14 friends on Steam, even if he grabbed an extra copy for every single friend he has on Steam, that still leaves 36 copies, one third or more of the "friends" he has on his account don't even have a "last logged in time". Which tells me they're most likely dupes that haven't been used yet.

Nothing about this says "just an honest, helpful guy here looking out for his friends".

I agree with almost everything you said, the staff here have made it abundantly clear that giving away games gotten for free from promotions like what Humblebundle just did for CV on this site is against the rules.

The only reason that so many copies actually made it into giveaways was because there wasn't a staff member online at the time with the power to disable the game.

Hell, BoboFatt had to actually make a post in this forum telling all the greedy kiddies NOT to make giveaways because they would just be deleted and they would lose a slot.

One, maybe two extra copies for close friends is fine by me, apparently I missed the text where Humblebundle said "grab a gift link for a friend" as SquishedPotatoe mentioned above (or below if you're not using a forum addon/extention), this thread is just greed demonstrated, but once nothing could be gained he decided to just drop them in the forum. I "guess" that's a tiny bit of positive karma, but it means very little to me.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few people post that they were unable to get a link around the time that it was actually open and it's people like this who caused that. Those people who didn't get a link might have actually wanted the game to play.

What's really funny, is that of the few people who actually have set up accounts with games in them on this kids friends list, RebirthAce, is the ONLY person out of the 15 (14 friends and himself) that actually has the game redeemed in their Steam library.

Yeah, he was really "looking out for his friends" with these gift links. lol

Oh - by all means feel free to act nice and generous to people - if it does not mean EXPLOITING free keys promos.

if he would get 2-3 copies I would believe in refreshing mistake (Even I got 2 copies because of refreshing by accident). If he would get 5-7 copies I'd believe he woul just want to get them for friends or just drop it somewhere or just be nice to someone. But 50 copies? With 50 copies it doesn't even matter if I believe or not in his good intentions (btw. I do not). 50 copies is a freaking exploiting no matter how you look at that. And exploiting is bad no matter the intentions.

ofc Humble calculated exploiters into their promo, as well as any serious and big enough business will calculate losses from exploiters, cheaters or thieves into their financial status. There will always be people that will cheat the system or at least try to do so. Does the fact that we know it change what these mentioned people do to be totally fine and ok? No - what they do is still wrong, simple as that. Once more - exploiting is bad in itself - site owner doing something or nothing to prevent it does not change the basic fact that exploiting is bad.

Also sorry, but where did I ever call him a leecher? Actually if you Ctrl+F on this topic the only one ever using a word leecher is you right here right now ;p Nowhere did I judge any other of his actions on SG but the fact of exploiting HB promo. Which btw he huimself admit to exploiting here.
