Hello

from this problem : https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/V1N94/how-can-i-enter-multiple-games-in-the-have-field-of-steamtrades

and this inspiration: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/fN8vR/userscript-steamtrades-have-list-filter-alternate-version

I create this tool to help you find trade that match your have/want list.

This script will check every open trade on the page and show the game that match with your list.

Download
It's the same script. Just choose one of them.
userscriptJS or greasyfork

Installation

  1. Download and install Tampermonkey for your browser
  2. Install the userscript above

How to use

  1. Visit https://www.steamtrades.com/trades
  2. Click "Easy search" over the "I have..." input box.
  3. Fill your list one game per line
  4. Click red search button. Now each trade will show games that match with your list.
  5. Now your can search I have/I want normally without filling list again.
  6. (optional) You can set autoMatch variable in the code to true. It wll start matching after page loaded.

Thank you.

Well, this is interesting. I don't steamtrades as much as I used to, but I might give this a go, out of curiosity. :)

Neat - That makes SG a bit more convenient to use!

I'll keep hoping that SG will have less comments like this:

Anything here [in my link to a giant game list] for your game, X?

I hope so :)

That will not change I'm afraid.

Most of the time in my experience, people who post big lists do not have any games from your wishlist, and for an obvious reason: most traders have only bundled games in their tradelist, and unbundled games in their wishlist.

When the trader posts a link to his giant game list, he is hoping that the other person will find a game she wants in this list, even if it is NOT in her wishlist. And I don't see how some script will help for this

(I'm personally rooting for a new Filter script. The previous one doesn't work anymore)

I think that's why barter is superior in trading games, which is still a hassle for me. I rather gift leftovers and buy keys on grey market, in bundles or steam sale. I reallyy came to a point, that I rather spend more money, than lose time and nerves on trades :D

Value being in the eye of the beholder is what makes any negotiations more difficult in general, regardless of site used.
The site's group offers are convenient where you can send an offer to everyone who matches a set of have & want conditions.

My biggest problem with Barter, is that it's filled with resellers/retraders. You can't expect fair trades with them. The trend I've noticed is that they will ask for 2x the value of what you want. Or more. Since they're in for profit. A lot of them will also pounce on less experienced traders to get the more valuable games. Gotta admit though, that some are better than others and can be more reasonable.

Ugh, those are frustrating to deal with, and often have a <5% incoming offer acceptance rate. Unless its a game I REALLY want, I typically have the conviction to be like "I'd rather gift than give in", and try to be fair by usually balancing grey market price with barter's supply & demand.

I personally have experienced just as many hardball traders on both sites, but exchanges with barter's users tend to be easier for me and I've done more multiple trades with them.

I don't mind that so much... as long as said list isn't overly long. And is in alphabetical order. And if the titles are linked to their store page, that's even better. I do have bundled games in my wishlist, but in case I missed some, I might find something to my liking on people's list.

Too bad it searching incomplete matches too, or this can't be tweaked.
I'm getting false matches for games like:
Uno
iO
Inside
Below
or any other "common one word" game name.
