I can't claim the freebie as I previously purchased a copy for a SG giveaway. XD I'll enter some giveaways now that my backlog is looking healthier, and hope the circle of life becomes complete! ETA I had a key gifted back to me, completing the circle of life!!

Maybe I am not the only one who registered to the Humblebundle.com firstly because of a free game. With this new ToS, I just need steam if I only go for the freebies. If that becomes well known among players, will hit the steam's rival stores.
The steam is entrenching their near-monopoly position, what is disgusting in my opinion. If I were them, I would that too. But still disgusting :)
Without the 'exclusive free game' card, it will hard to earn customer base for the other stores. They need something new. I think a Windows-linux-android store with crossbuy feature would be up to the race. ;)

dev or publisher? - because if its the latter, then all a dev needs to do is sign different publishers for different outlets (which isnt all that difficult to do really).

your link is just a suggestion. devs will continue generate keys and sell them to shady giveaways sites (gleM, giveawaysu, orligyft and others) without giveaways on steam.

The website you are mentionning are almost giving away removed game or removed to be.
Also, gleam, orligyft are censored on steam.
It's not a suggestion but a rule, if devs don't follow it, there a change to getting banned and the games removed.
This year, all games that was given away on the humble store, are given away on steam fews weeks later, that is a fact.
