Craiglist. Most products that I have saved tons of money on I have had no problems returning for new items but 1 company won't do it (I won't say which company it was but to say that even with proof of purchase they make it hell to return items so I will no longer support them), I just don't have exp with Intel so IDK.

This is NIB (new in box) sealed etc. And I agree with you on most purchases of used items but I have had no problem returning for new items, see post above.

There should be always something like an official guarantee card in box, no matter in which store it was bought. They might need just this. Also make sure this CPU is brand new, used could be overclocked improperly and damaged somehow.

NIB (new in box) sealed. So I am good on that issue but of course I will open it b4 I walk away and hand my money over. So you are saying that with this product I am good to go bc it will have an official guarantee card? And have you ever dealt with Intel?

I'm in progress of buying myself an i5-3570k, but haven't got it yet. However I've bought lots and lots of hardware and CPUs, graphic cards, motherboards usually have warranty card inside the box and receipt/invoice from store.
Anyway, i7-3770k is quite good deal as for 150$, I'd go for it myself. Not sure what this 'Craiglist' is, is this some kind of ebay or regular store?

TY for the info, but this is like a public place online in your home area, so I would meet this person in RL and make the buy, no receipt. So I understand the warranty card inside the box but not about how Intel handles this type of purchase. Still looking for someone who has done this.

I don't see Intel RMA this product without a proof of purchase.

For sure? Any exp or someone who has exp with doing this?

TY to everyone who gave input. I have scoured the net also and come up with a 50/50 answer. They will either ask for PoP or they won't. So I am going to give it a shot bc the price is great for the unit and hope for the best. Thanks again guys.

Found an Intel i7-3770k NIB for $150. Have no way of testing it and sold as is.
Specs
Most companies I have dealt with have no problem returning items under warranty with the exception of a few out there but I have no experience dealing with Intel.
What I am wondering is how is Intel's return policy in regards to no proof of purchase. If I buy this and find out its bunk, can I claim it under warranty even though I did't buy it from a retailer? Will they ask for proof of purchase etc.
Any help would be appreciated. TY
