if you own one of those:

Hard Reset Extended Edition

Shadow Warrior

copy paste:
We’re also really happy to announce that we’re doing a loyalty program for everyone who owns any version of the original Hard Reset. Here’s how the plan works in a nutshell:

  • Owners of any version Hard Reset receive an 85% discount on Hard Reset Redux: All owners of any digital version of the original Hard Reset will receive an 85% discount on Hard Reset Redux. This discount will go into effect today, and will last for the lifetime of the game. Please note that this discount is non-stackable though, so it cannot increase in combination with other promotions of the game.
  • You don’t have to do anything: This discount will show up automatically when you purchase Hard Reset Redux, so you don’t have to do anything to get as long as you’ve purchased some version of Hard Reset in the past with the same Steam Account that you’re using to purchase Hard Reset Redux.
  • Fun for Shadow Warrior Fans too!: All owners of Flying Wild Hog’s epic rebirth of Shadow Warrior (2013) will also receive this discount, and everything above applies to them as well.

But they can only gift it among their own region anyway, so what does it matter?

They have a base price of 50-70% off the US price, and then a 85% discount for them is an 85% discount off their base price. The US price is not relevant to them as they can't buy for it anyway, nor can they really trade games away for their low prices anymore as all low price region Steam Gifts are currently run-locked to only run in the regions they were bought.

Sure, but they can enter ROW giveaways, not just their own region.

How does it affect anything for me as a high price buyer if you or some guy from Moscow enter my GAs for my ROW copies?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It doesn't affect you, because you not creating high level giveaways. Some people (not me) worried that russians can exploit some discounts to farm CV and level up faster.

Ah, you mean they get dollar contrib value even though they give away for rubles prices. That's very true, but a silly thing to focus one's energy on -- unless one wants to be the PalmDesert of SteamGifts, anyway.

Higher steamgifts level -> you can enter high-level giveaways with less entries -> higher chances to win.

But what if I have this http://store.steampowered.com/app/233130/ and this: http://store.steampowered.com/app/98400/ do I get more then 85% :)) :V ??

You don't need to have both. 1 is enough. Old Shadow Warrior does not count.

Just check the steampage, if it says "-85%" then you are eligible, else you would see "-10%"

What's the difference between the Redux version and the vanilla game?

Edit - Nevermind, found it:

  • Brand New Cyber-Katana Weapon: A powerful new weapon which provides an effective close range combat option
  • Brand New Enemy Type: Various variants of a threatening new Cyborg Zombie now lie in wait for unsuspecting players
  • New Quick Dash Move: Provides players with a new movement option in battle to help avoid incoming attacks and enemies
  • Enhanced Visuals: The game has been updated to the newest version of the RoadHog engine and includes improved lightning and effects
  • Improved Performance: Enjoy faster Load times, a new Quicksave feature and full joypad support
  • Rebalanced Gameplay: The game now includes improved difficulty levels and better pacing
  • Different Enemy Placement: Enemies are introduced differently throughout the game, and provide a new challenge for even the most seasoned Hard Reset veteran

Interesting because is a new game meaning new cards which equal more money ... for example System Shock enhanced made me 3 E because of a foil card ... so it is like a gamble for me ... ME LIKE IT :V

Been waiting to hear if this would be getting a loyalty discount. I didn't play much of the original version for various reasons but I really did enjoy it. Even better to hear it's a lifetime bonus as I don't have to rush for it. Just spent my last bunch of card funds on the Dead Island Remasters so I'll get this after I've sold the next batch.

That's a bit offtopic, but I'm thinking about getting the Dead Island Remasters myself, since I have the original ones (from the recent HB)...
Are the new versions worth it? What did they add?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They don't release till the end of the month so it's hard to say. The major difference is the update from Chrome Engine 5 to 6 which is the version used by Dying Light. Then there's the new sets of cards and achievements if those are your thing. I only grabbed them know as the loyalty discount is only valid till launch and even after that they won't get much cheaper in sales.
