Hi Everybody,
My kaspersky Internet security 2014 subscription is about to end, only a few days left. The last few updates has made my PC slow. I would like to know what Internet securities do you use. What would you guys recommend.

                                                                              Thank You.

Combination of Malwarebytes & Avira Free Antivirus. Never had a problem.

Avast! (even the free version) + Malwarebytes is the best combo ever.

Plus common sense when using internet.

Bitdefender is likely to slow down his PC even more. It works horribly when I tried different versions of it.

I've been using the AVG free edition for over 2 years now with no issues at all. Before that I was paying 39.99 a year for McAfee.

When it comes to firewalls, I only use ZoneAlarm. Other firewalls actually leave ports open when they should not be open.

ESET Smart Security, Avast or just Microsoft's Security Essential (but only if you use Windows 7 and below)

how about using google, oh well you already used internet security by kaspersky (facepalm).
everyone knows that this product slows the pc down and costs alot of performance....

independent security tests by AV-Test & Matousec (both well known sites)

http://www.matousec.com/projects/proactive-security-challenge-64/results.php

i recommend to read throught the tests from matousec

Been using KIS 2013 for over a year with no problem. Perhaps downgrade it to 2013? Or if you want a fast internet security use NIS. But from my experience, Norton can't get rid of many viruses, and it gets turned off quite easily.
I haven't tried any other internet securities for a few years so I can't help you anymore than that.

KiS and NiS are total crap, learn to use your computer properly then mse is all you need

I don't know. I just use my brain. I don't need Firewall cause I am already behind NAT.
I even have Windows Defender turned off most of the time.
But if you want one, I'd recommend AVG free.

Use google chrome, and install ad blocker, it actually blocks everything, including some viruses, andus it's free. For paid ones, I would recommend Norton because they do update a lot and it doesn't slow my computer down at all.

If you had suggested Norton a few years ago, you would have been laughed out of town. Luckily it's gotten a "BIT" better.

Though I have to agree on the ad blocker point. It's very useful and customisable.

The day I tried the NOD32 antivirus, I stopped having to look around for 'better' antivirus/security packages. It was great. The only drawback to NOD32 is that it may take you a little while to get used to where to find all the advanced settings, but it's strong as balls. And who doesn't want an anti-virus that is "strong as balls"?

The actual only noted drawback is that it's so powerful that initially it can cause false positives, though Eset have got much better at their tuning since that last happened (years ago). I haven't had to manually allow a program/connection in so long that I honestly can't remember the year, let alone month. It's a little finicky to deal with if you're used to easy-access UIs and such.
