Sometimes you come across a review that is just too good, too entertaining, too terrific that it changes your mood to the better.

I was browsing through SG Discussions when I bumped into this TMNT post again so I visited the Steam store page and starting going through the reviews. Am I glad that I did!

This particular review is just too good and I thought I'd share with anyone who's up for a hearty laugh xD

this game is actually godlike i wish everyone and their mother was able to buy this game. this game is better than anything capcom could ever come up with. this game is better than having sex unironically.
only played this game for 10 minutes before steam took it off the store. honestly dont blame em, this game is too glorious for this rundown client. the gameplay cured the STDs i got from having lots of sex cuz im jus so hot n awesome and everyone loves me.
i was also extremely paralyzed on a wheelchair until my brother booted this game up for me and once i saw this beautiful game i was able to freely move again like it was all just a bad dream.
in 2015 my father was gunned down in philly this game brought him back to life and found the killer and brought down the hammer of justice (just like the teenage mutant ninja turtles) and got him sentenced to life in prison.
i was arrested in my own home by ice and they were going to deport me back to my home country of panama but this game freed me from their grip and gave me a green card.
my high school girlfriend cheated on me while we were in college this game carried me through the breakup and was a five star wingman as it helped me score a loyal slim thick latina (i didn't even know they existed)
the graphics and visuals cured my colorblindness and helped my vision to see a better future in my life.
this game taught me its okay to be gay and i finally came out of the closet to my family just like the teenage mutant ninja turtles came out of the shadows to society.
december 26th 2009 in venezuelan child living in his home town came back from work and found his family kdnapped and shot dead by the cartel. in search of a better future he tries to come to the u.s. but can't since he can't get a visa. luckily activision comes and provides him with a copy of teenage mutant ninja turtles: out of the shadows, and he got motivated to do enough hard work to finally procure a visa. he was able to achieve the american dream. he now lives in las vegas and owns 40 lamborghinis.
10/10 this game c*ms.

So which review had you laughing out loud? The more ridiculous, the better :))

Which Steam review is the most entertaining you've ever read in your life?

I don't read reviews.

Don't want to be killjoy, but for me all these "funny" reviews seem cringe as mostly they go by one recipe. They are usually so disconnected from the actual game it can be copied under any game. And I have a feeling these people are simply doing just that with hope that under one of them they will be noticed and get attention.

Its simply farce - over the top exaggerated situations. Maybe I'm just desensitized as everyone seems to try this approach, but doesn't seem to entertain me.

I personally like such reviews that truly give impression of the game with healthy does of jokes. IMO its always bad when you go into absolutes. We have many that go completely in the way of comedy without touching on game once and then we have those who think of themselves so professional they write synopsis of everything that they did without any human touch or idea...... so if someone can write a review that actually touches on game + can include some good humor without going over the top for this "deadpool" affect then I enjoy it.

Sure, we all do.

The blatant copy/paste ones are annoying actually.

That makes the comedy reviews that sneak up on you all the more funny :) This is one of them. Me pointing it out beforehand might have well taken away that sneak factor :)

Yup no doubt - comedy in general. With the right timing anything can be funny.

I can't stand reviews like that. Silly clutter. Serves no purpose other than farming points :p

But then again.. I'm a bitter old man.

Hmmm
Not ever? not even once? :)

The blatant ones that are repeats, sure.

This one had a lot of thought put into it though.

And you can be as bitter as you want. It's earned as you age and deal more with the world :)

I did that thing once. And I get why people do these xD
I mean - write solid review for one hour - get 5 likes xD
Write one sentence got some likes and awards xD

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter. If some games have lots of reviews - it will disappear from the view anyway. It boils down to thumbs up/down to make finall rating, and most people don't read reviews anyway.

I usually come to the same conclusion after playing a very popular game. And I have experienced the same thing - when I write an actual review I get maybe 5 likes, but for this one it blew up - https://steamcommunity.com/id/chriskutcher/recommended/292030/

I mean I had finished the game. Everyone already knows of it and there is literally no point in writing a review there. Basically wrote the first thing that came in mind since I wanted to give it recommend rating at least. Feels bad when you actually work for a review and that one gets lost in oblivion :D

I always check the reviews for information about stability issues, general gameplay loop and feedback from users who contribute with anything remotely relevant. Trailers and hype media is so rampant these days. So yes, at the end of the day, good informative reviews are the cure to this drivel 💯%

If hunting likes is the end result.. get on instagram and oil up your tits. 😁✌

True that. But... also those don't get much attention xD Sometimes I have to dig for quite a long time before I find anything useful at all. Something went wrong. Valve noticed it, but instead of fixing problem they decided to do the opposite.

Now we have additional button - for reviews that were funny.
Also we can give awards for reviews.

Next step... idk. You can attach picture of your oiled up tits? Idk. Valve tries really hard to change steam into some sort for social platform.

If they monetized a function where users could post images, that would become reality real quick. They are already peddling hardcore porn from sales % of publishers, sooo... why not add an optional subscription model for regular users 😑

:... And now, all the thots of the world can link their steam(y) accounts right next to twitch, instagram and onlyfans.

I would complain first about the unattractive wall of text with no structure. It's so unappealing that I felt no motivation to read it.

Sorry to say so and possibly spoil your fun, but I find this kind of reviews to be extremely annoying. Reading reviews I look for in-depth info of the game, not for some cheap jokes.

P.S. Actually, I very much like the way in which your reviews are written ;)

That's fair :) Comedy is very individual and even then it needs to be at a time you're ready for it, not expecting it, etc :)

I don't go around looking for these and usually skip them but this one just took me by surprise I guess :D

Yeah i feel like this is kinda problem as well when i start getting old, it was blast and fun to see things like this back then but with limited time to play nowadays finding constructive reviews become my main prioritize while finding games to play (Even tho sometimes i also make silly reviews myself whenever i wasn't in the mood or not having decent time to review the game properly, so the least i can do is boosting it with a positive review).

Also they still pretty much exist in "most helpful" section, since as for silly reviews like those often get marked as "funny" by people, tho not always effective unfortunately.

something along the lines of:
Best game ever, 10/10, best music I have ever heard, great art, great gameplay.
must play game.
1000+ hours played
Steam option selected: Do not recommend.

I remember laughed at those reviews while back

The first one is from Fallout New Vegas:

Met a cute girl in the desert. My VATS said i'd had a 0% chance to hit that.

This War of Mine:

It's like The Sims, except your sims are terminally ill, mortally wounded, morbidly depressed, and have to steal food from elderly to survive.

MGS V:

To the Soviet solider blasting "Kids in America" in the middle of Afghanistan with all skills at 'E'. You got yourself a new home at Motherbase.

Rust:

I found an AK-47 before i found food. I felt like a child in Congo.

I don't mind funny reviews as long as there's some effort put into them. I do despise those checkbox copy paste reviews, though. Very, very much. One funny (positive) review I read not long ago was for A Way Out.

Leo's nose is longer than this game.

Actually...

Fares Fares is the brother of the director of A Way Out and the actor who plays Leo Caruso.

He's a Swedish actor. Very known here for great silly comedy movies.
And yes, he sports a pretty impressive sniffer 😊

You really had to go ahead and put his nose in it? I mean your nose in it? :p

Jokes aside, I LOVE this tidbit! Thank you for sharing.

Edit to add:
I'm more amused in a good way by how Leo's model is based on a real actor yet unknown to me than when I saw a famous actor in a big game - Josh Duhamel in CoD WW2, which somehow annoyed me back then for some reason.

I like comedy. But I prefer a review with a bit of comedy than the comedy being the main point of the existence of the review.
