Quick question ... do you guys think the information on those holiday trading cards is correct? Do they really last about one month longer than the actual sale? (Valid until 2/2/2017)

I'm just wondering, because - as expected - their price on the market is already dropping and if it's really true that the cards are still good for one month after the sale, then it would rise again ( at least a little bit), because after the sale ends the only way to get any, would be over the market, right?

Let's hope they don't change their mind then. In the past, when I bought stuff last minute I used to get cards that I couldn't even sell before they disappeared.

im pretty sure they added the new longer time frame because of the community complaining about the old system... i remember card had a market lock for 7 days, so people couldn't sell them...

In theory, they could continue giving out cards for browsing your discovery queue. Since they profit from each sale on the market, it makes no sense for them to stop the drops.

It's hard to tell for certain, of course, but considering that getting cards for exploring your queue is a feature of the sale, I would expect it to end with the sale. Also they wouldn't risk inflating the price by giving out free cards to everyone for a whole month. In the end they probably profit even more from the remaining cards on the market after the sale, if their price would go up.

Valid is not necessarily the same as tradable and marketable.

You're right of course, but let's assume for a moment, they extended the lifetime of the cards for one month after the sale, while at the same time suspend trading and selling them along with the sale. I'd imagine that would result in a shitstorm, as the cards would be only usable if someone already had a full set. But then again, it wouldn't surprise me with Steam.

Pretty much letting the people with 1 million accounts transfer the cards to their main one w/o having to bust them into Gems i guess D:

With all seriousness its a shitstorm the last day of the cards validity usually ... and a lot of people complained on reddit about that .

Making them last a whole month After the sale is done makes sense i guess .
