Arma II 50% Off - Buy for DayZ or not?? [ Giveaway Inside ]

ok so my question is. Should I buy Arma II and CO now while its on 50% sale?
I know that there are already posts on this but there might be more recent news. If not I apologize.

I'd be getting it mostly to play DayZ with some friends.

My doubts rely on the fact that with the Arma 3 coming soon, Arma II might go on 75% this summer sales,

And the fact that apparently there's an incoming standalone version of DayZ. that shouldn't be long..

wait for DayZ standalone to come out... if you are just getting a game for a mod that is going to be standalone it's just dumb...

Can somebody explain what the point of buying it now would be?

The summer sale is right around the corner. Unless you desperately need it NOW, why not wait until the summer sale and possibly get a better discount?

well I was asking also on the standalone status. Cuz apparently it is close to release, and given that I may not even buy it in the steam sales

Rocket wanted the standalone alpha out before the end of 2012.

No. Dayz is just overrated piece of crap. It's unplayable and not fun. Idea is good, but the game(mod) is horrible. And stand alone mod looks the same. Yes they're releasing a mod as a full game. Just imagine, one of the newest feature is jumping lol you can jump in this game lol
And if you're interested in arma, just buy arma3, it runs better than arma2, but still you need a good PC.
