We've been experiencing a few performance issues with our current dedicated server as of late, a little downtime, and long load times during peak hours. I've tried to optimize the site as best as possible throughout the past year, but we're starting to hit a wall with the existing setup. I ordered a couple of new dedicated servers earlier in the week, and they're currently being setup. I'll most likely be migrating the site next week to the new servers, so I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. This topic will be updated as more information is known, along with exact dates, and when we'll be experiencing downtime.

Thanks a lot cg, your work is definitely appreciated and I'm really glad to see that we're moving servers; things have definitely been slow/offline the majority of the time I've tried to use the site.

CG, is there any way you might consider taking donations from the community or do the simple ads really cut it for you?

I think this would be a great idea. I'd donate to help keep it alive.

So I don\'t know if I\'m alone here, but even after the DNS propagated, I spent the better portion of this day unable to sign in, because Steam\'s authentication just sent right back to SteamGifts without logging in.

If anyone else is experiencing the issue, the cause is malformed parameters being passed in the URL query string. Once you return to SteamGifts from Steam\'s login page, the percent signs in the URL (themselves part of escaped characters) are being escaped themselves as %25.

Workaround solution: copy the URL you end up at to your favorite text editor, find/replace all instances of %25 with %, paste back into browser.

I suggest the admins look into this, since I\'m kinda guessing it\'s not only me being affected.

Thanks, vonPreussen. Solution works and there's a message on the main page acknowledging the login issues which you can only see if you login!

that's not true, I saw the message even before I could log in

So, how did You figure that out?

It took me far longer to notice than I would like to admit, but I do enough web design to know that a / in a URL escapes to %2F, and %252F isn't a valid escape character. :v
