This is more of a rant post about my experience at TremorGames.

I recently discovereved the site and I really wanted it to work, but I couldn't even log in after registering. Support has completely ignored my mails, and I was forced to register another account (which curiously had no problem logging in) to go on the forums and make my case.

The admins banned me after trying to redeem something other than a Steam Trading Card.

I would advise everyone to stay clear of this site. The support is garbage and you are totally ignored when you ask for help.

Yep, was trying to get some help a few months ago but they kept ignoring my emails. Now all i do is logon once each day to claim my free coins for logging in.

Stay clear because of poor support? Steam has horrendous support. So does that mean you should get off Steam, and thus, this site?

Ehh, Steam's average support doesn't come close to what the above post describes.

What support did you encounter if steam is average for you? Steam support is abysmal. I personally didn't have the need to contact them, but waiting for longer then a week just to get a half-arsed copy-paste answer that doesn't really have anything to do with your question or problem, and if you are persistent and keep bumping, repeating that for 2 months till an actual person bothers to read your question and answers it is pretty bad.

Try http://www.steampowers.net/ I got few games from there, admins are friendly and you can find them on chat usually, same as tremorgames, but without games, just with offers, surveys, etc

Only two ppl answer to the reports and send the games. Do you think it is easy?

If this is true, then why don't they get more support members? With all the money they make, it can't be that hard.

they dont make a whole lot of money

think about the running of the bots, server fees, domain cost, bandwidth

and also that those 2 people do have a life outside of the site

( though i do wish weedle or myself could start going with the emails or doing more on the site )

Use of multiple accounts (same IP address and/or same PC) and/or use of proxies is prohibited and will result in a ban of all accounts. We allow only one account per PC. Sharing of PCs is prohibited

from the TOS

most schools have proxies or VPNs

Don't know dude, i have no complains with their support. Actually i have good impressions from them. Once they gave me duplicate key (Ether Vapor Remaster i think) I posted in the forums, and couple of hours later i received usable key. I don't have any violations of the rules, so i can say - be fair and they will be fair too.

No problems here either.

*edit:
You should have read the ToS before registering. So you are kinda right about their support not being optimal but you've created the problem yourself because you didn't read their ToS.

but out of the 1,000s of people who use it i have only heard of maybe 2 with login issues
weather that may be creating it with a typo in the email or password ( i dont even remember if there is activation emails )

but i have received over 10 TF2 keys and $100+ worth of games in 1 month so its not that bad aslong as no issues happen

I used a Virtual PC and earned a few game keys from that site. The only thing that seemed worth doing is installing that garbage spyware games, but even those fail to give credit about a third of the time.

In the end, it didn't really feel like Termorgames is worth the hassle, unless you're seriously hurting for a gaming budget.

Its better than nothing, but not by much. If you've got a lot more time than funds to feed your gaming habit, it can be a reasonable trade-off. Personally, I'd rather spend my time playing games, or reading, or sleeping, or watching TV.

I've been using Tremor for more than a year, never had a single problem... o_O

I've gotten just shy of $1000US worth of games using the site.

I've also never seen them ban anyone without a valid reason...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

every ban ive seen people will swear " they did nothing wrong"

and then tremo will get on and say

" well you have 4 other accounts and used 2 Proxies "

so ya ive never seen someone banned for no reason

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

lol Yeah, people always swear they didn't break the rules or they swear they didn't know the rules existed...

Tremor has always been on the level with me and I've always gotten a response to messages and I've never had to wait very long for games either.

I just requested a game about 10 minutes ago, I'll probably have it within the hour too.

Seems like the OP is butthurt that he got caught with more than 1 account/using a proxy and is now taking out his frustrations by telling people that the site is a scam and we shouldn't use it... >_>

I've seen hundreds of kids do that with various sites over the last 15+ years. lol

In about half a year, I've cashed out a mountain of games, cards, and other loot from tremorgames without any problems. It's a small operation so you occasionally have to be patient but if you can read and follow instructions, it can be very profitable.

Do people actually expect to get sympathy when they ragequit a website then whine about it in some other forum?

He also said in his forum thread that he was "forced to register other accounts"... oO As in "more than the one allowed per the TOS"... >>

I've never seen Tremor force anyone to do anything other than follow the rules, one of those rules being "only one account per IP".

I didn't expect this thread to get this huge attention when I posted it yesterday night, I admit I was on edge and this account ban got the best of me to react calmly and I got very upset.

I've been reading the replies, I know Zacvr you were the only one to reply on the forum and I thank you for your support. I want to clarify some things.

  • The site itself and the service (that is getting free games for coins) is great - I read other threads in the tremor forums and I saw that the admins are helpful when it comes to refunding or resending gifts - my problem is not with the service, but the handling of the accounts and the zero tolerance for multiple accounts, EVEN if it is not necessarily the users fault, but the system itself.

  • I admit I registered multiple accounts, HOWEVER only this latest account got banned when I tried to redeem a Shank 2, let me explain:

  • The first time I registered an account and I tried to login I got "There was a problem while logging in, you may contact support". I NEVER had the chance to login to this day with the original account - even with password resets - it is not banned, it is inaccessible. (How is this possible?)

  • I have written to support about this problem. Support has not replied in 2 weeks and I am not going to wait till christmas just to be able to access the site, that's why I registered another account and that's how I got to the forum, which is still a mystery to me. Why did this latest account have no problems logging in, while the original account is inaccessible ??? Furthermore how could I redeem a trading card without problems, but not a full game?

  • Dummy e-mails work just as fine as any real e-mail.

I know I have wronged the ToS by registering multiple accounts, that's why probably the latest account got banned, however I feel there is a problem with the system itself by locking you out of your account, then receiving no reply from support regarding this specific problem. By saying "I was forced" to register another account, I haven't and will not receive any help from support any time soon, and if I want to be able to access the site before christmas, I have to improvise. You can judge me for doing this, but I think others might have felt powerless just as myself and would have resorted to this option.

Things aren't going to change now, I am super banned now. My original aim with the forum post was give feedback for the site admins about this problem, I hope they will consider getting an extra hand for support.
