A monthly Bundle? What will you do?
Did you guys notice the massive hate on their Youtube promo video? I've barely seen such a low like/dislike score from a company as big as Humble. I guess a lot of people don't really like the idea for it, and it's expected - it's an expensive pre-paid blind buy worth a top tier normal bundle, and with no PayPal option, and no choice to pick money distribution (charity vs devs), they are straying from what made them big. It used to be pay what you want, then it became $1 minimum for keys. It used to be first buyers receive bonus games with any tier purchased, now you have to pay for BTA. Now it's $12 fixed price (pwyw model, where art thou?) for games we don't know what they will be, and everyone is speculating because all of their hints can reasonably be at least 10 different games each. People loving Humble for their charity support are also left out with the fixed 5% charity cut. Tbh, the marketing director of the bundles needs to put some better work as it looks like people are seriously turning against them, especially when they have more proper competition in the face of BundleStars and IG.

Personally, I don't have a problem with those changes. No one else ever gave free bonus games from a higher tier when you bought a lower tier. And the $1 minimum thing for Steam keys came about because of abuse, so you can thank the scumbags out there for that one. Honestly, when people complain about it it just sounds like sour grapes. They were reasonable changes imo.
As far as the monthly subscription thing goes, I'm waiting to see how it turns out before passing judgment. Given some of the great games that Humble has been able to get in bundles at times, I am willing to put forth a little bit of faith that I would not afford anyone else. Time will tell.

Tbh I am not too mad with Humble right now, I was just trying to summarize the people's opinion. The community here, as well as other Steam related forums are likely to like the idea more, especially if the games turn out to be good like the ones hinted. But not dedicated Steam users who buy Humble on a general basis, or especially if they buy it for charity alone, are pretty much left out on this bundle. I think low sales was the key reason to see hints on their twitter page in the first place, and then this reddit user who found out background images for 4 of the games - perhaps it was all to try and boost the sales a bit. I wonder how it will turn out for Humble with this experiment, but I think we will see some changes to their model soon if they continue to offer Monthly bundles.

Besiege a 5$ game i already own.
Rogue Legacy a game i already have and that goes on sale for a couple of bucks
Saint Row 4 a game that's been bundled twice that i own as well
Transistor the only one i might really be interested in this far with LoG2
Valkria Chronicles not my cup of tea.
I'll keep my money for Halloween sale, at least i know what i'm getting and won't get games i already have.
Thanks HB for offering 2 bad bundles this week and the uninteresting (to me) pick for that monthly bundle hence letting me save some money for something better :P

Someone over on reddit thought the skeleton could mean Shovel Knight. Seems to make sense to me with the missing lower jaw and sword.

The skull also reminds me of Crypt of the Necrodancer, although I think in that game the skeletons don't have swords.

I kinda wish they'd stop with the hints and just let us find out what we get when we get it. I suppose it's not their fault that I don't ignore it. But, as evidenced by the above, it's not like it's giving us any real confidence as to what is coming.
I hope Besiege is included, but I don't feel like I can be confident even of that. And lanterns and skeletons are pretty darn vague...

My main concern about this bundle is Saints Row 4. Will I be able to get Saints Row 2 and 3 separately later at a decent price, without having to purchase the complete pack and losing money because of a duplicate.

Saints Row Franchise is almost certain to go on next big Steam seasonal sale and you can expect the whole franchise (SR 2, 3, 4 and all their DLCs) go on at least 75% discounts - this is something that happened over and over again in the past big sales, so if your only temptation in this bundle is Saints Row IV, I would skip it.

From what of those images comes the guess for Transistor? Unless "radio --> transistor"?

This last update is worrysome and may be my tombstone on giving a chance to the Monthly if it turned all true. From the first announcements, it seemed like the big thing about it would be "never bundled before games" - was it an erroneous assumption from users, or did they effectively backpedal on that? - and now coupled with the doubt good stuff from other bundle sites may be found there... wait and see, even more.
Also this lack of PayPal option until now, was it because they had problems, or was it a gross oversight on Humble's part?

I had a reason for not being able to process Paypal up in the OP but erased it.. i think they preferred Stripe payment though. I got an email today from HB explaining that they added the Paypal option because they "heard" our complaints and are now "listening."

How "confirmed" is the Rogue Legacy guess? The skeletons in it don't have swords, and it looks like the one on the picture is holding a sword. There are skeletons with bows though, and while I don't think it looks like a bow in the picture (more so judging by how it holds it), it's a bit hard to tell, considering how stylized it is,

Not by itself it hasn't. If you are referring to the Devolver Digital Build-A-Bundle that the Humble Store ran, then you had to buy 4 other games to get it at 90% off.
Other than that I don't think the game has been more than 50% off yet.

I would tend to agree. If the guesses pan out then those games are probably half the price of the lowest sale on them. And they are all high quality games. I guess it really depends on how many you already have if you are not okay with extras. Personally, I have none of the titles guessed and Legend of Grimrock II is definitely on my wishlist so it is tempting.

Is $12 a lot of money for 6 games? That depends on what games you'll get, how many of them you already own and how many of them you would not play based on preferences.
That does make it a rather risky proposition considering how likely it is you'll get relatively little value out of it for people.
Better to sink $12 in something you KNOW you'll enjoy than burn it on something that you may never play or already own.

I had assumed the windmills were just from besige. But you're right more likely Valkyrie chronicles.
Transistor was from the radio. Since the picture is just an artwork featuring different components, so have to ignore the art-style. But JetSet Radio intrigues since it's the same publisher as Valkyrie Conronicles.

I think it's because some people seem to be hung up on the term 'transistor radio', even though it is an antiquated one. Transistors have a lot more modern uses these days, not the least of which is acting as the horsepower of the CPU in the device that you are reading this on right now. Anyway, my previous thought was Inside My Radio, but I don't feel too confident about it. It seems like a pretty vague clue.
